I think there should be more weapons in the game. Even melee weapons. It would add more stratagy, and give the blur ability a unique feel to it. Compaired to the other 3 abilitys.

Every gun is a melee weapon. some even have boost to melee attacks which could show a knife or rapier on the end of the gun.
Not that im saying it wouldn't be cool to have a knife or something but would you want to sacrifice a weapon slot just to have a knife melee? They couldn't make it so a knife did more damage than the blade on a sniper rifle otherwise whats the point of the huge blade?
For me a melee specific weapon is cosmetic more than utility. Blurr has many buffs which can be used by ALL weapon types. You can beef up weapons with mods to make them more melee heavy and deal more melee damage.
Remember. There is a weapon in the game which has 2 melee only attacks. This alone is enough for me since the thing is freaking AWESOME!

Right click for slamming Hulk crushing aoe attacks which make any weaker enemy drop to their knees in droves. DROVES!

I too would like to see increased Melee equipment available of all sorts, from knives and clubs to energy blades and more, along with more variation in animations. I can figure on several paradigms - 2-handed guns with visible bayonets and other melee accoutrements with increased melee stats and animations that take advantage of them, would be the simplest. I'd also like to see single-handed guns paired with a knife/melee of some sort in the other hand; it would add another dimension of play to add visible "CQC" skills that utilize the shorter blade alongside with a light firearm. Finally, there could be "Melee only" larger, solo-wielded blades that would trade long-range firepower for the ability to be an unholy terror close up, relatively speaking.
More variety can only make for a stronger, better game. There are already skills designed ffor close combat and perks for melee - this is just a logical extension of such things to add some new dynamics to combat.
