I think the 8Am is their advertised start time so people can begin to complain at 8am that servers arn't up, and they are launching servers 8 hours early to stress test and iron out the usual launch day jitters. Only the forums people would know about the 12 am launch and therefore a small yet ridiculously dedicated portion of the community will have allready hit the servers and elliviate some of that 8 am stress load... just my theory.

I'm aware of this "fix". The GM I spoke to actually told me about it aswell, even tho I had already tried it before contacting support. It didn't work, and when I told the GM this he said I've only applied the pre-order key, and that I need a second key for the actual game.

Okay, I preloaded, but I used the patcher that I downloaded through Steam, instead of downloading it directly from Trion because I didn't see this thread. The Launcher version was 1.449730 and what it downloaded was Client version 450399 (at about 10.5GB). Is this right? I didn't just redownload the beta, did I?

I talked a friend of mine into trying out the game and he placed a pre-order this evening, got his key, entered it into the site and had pre-load access seconds later. Understandably, I'm kind of doubting this whole "we're doing it in waves" thing.

I suspect everyone who made a digital pre-order that does not have preload access by now is either bugged in some way or was just flat out missed. And I wouldn't at all be surprised if the access problem for those people persisted even when the game goes live on April 2nd. I think support is missing a deeper issue because they're just assuming the problem is a long line (that doesn't actually exist).

unless the folder is called beta it is not the beta. the icon on desktop should say beta too.

I redeemed my pre-order code this afternoon and I keep getting the "Login successful but this account is not entitled to play Defiance" message. I don't remember my sq/a and I can't even reset it.
