Why no multi platform crossover?

It's great that Defiance will come in all flavors, but I heard on "1 hour with defiance" that simultaneous play across all platforms wont happen because "we tried it and the party did not like it".
Why should this be a problem? Cant see how it would even be noticed by the party members actually.
Plus I've always wondered who would win in a pvp fps between mouse/keyboard vs controller fight, given similar stats and conditions, here's an oportunity to find out.

PC users with a mouse are thought to have "better" control, so it would throw off the balance with PvP. Also each system may have little quirks that may allow one platform a minor advantage over the others.

Could also be a restriction by M$.

Also, you'd hear nothing but BS on "which console is best" on the PvP forums

probably because of shadowrun.

about 6? years ago ms studios iirc ddi a cross platform fps that tarnished hte shadowrun ip, and early on pc gamers were totally rolling the faces of xbox players. soon after they severely handicapped pc players and to this day xbox fans claim this as proof that controller > mouse/kb for shooters.


so basically if ms allowed any future games to be cross platform, it would destroy the illusions that xbox halo and cod fans have that they have pro skills and are 1337.

Why is it a problem?

Because Microsoft and Sony have the final say as to what happens on their consoles. They don't play nice together and decided it was not a good idea.

Although I play on Xbox it is easy to tell that keyboard/mouse setup will win against a controller. Wouldn't even be a fair match

They would have to give 1 console exclusive pc crossover rights as Microsoft and Sony WILL NEVER EVER allow crossover between their consoles.

Only a fanboi! would be so naive as to think sony is any better then mirosoft when it comes to these things :P

Its a two way hate relationship.

Besides like other sais, the game is better of without it, no mather how good you get with a controller, a mouse will always have a edge in twitch shooters.
