the monthly/yearly charge is why i went to xbox. everyone i talk to seems to think its pay to play, IMO your paying for the protection, not paying to play. look at how many times the PSN has been hacked, players info stolen or sold, and compare that to xbox's history.. change your outlook on it, and it might become reasonable to stick with what ya like. plus another member on here made a clearly good point, maintaining servers are not free.

Sony got hacked for being ******bags... I dont think having an upgraded pay service would'ev made any difference.

Derrr... now theyre the good guys tho? Maybe they'll get left alone.

Funnily enough people go on about Sony being hacked. People forget that Xbox are owned by Microsoft. I wonder how many times hotmail accounts have been leaked and hacked. Now think when people get access to a hotmail account how much else do they gain access to.

I agree with what you are sayin, but to me it's funnier that people forget WHY Sony got hacked...

A company is a company. You should always expect bad things. But out of both companies I would prefer Sony any day. Both of them have lost peoples information due to hacking which isn't surprising with the people out there these days. I believe the reason Sony are coming out as the Champions in all of this is because when you look at the consoles, for a gamer Sony looks like the company who have listened to gamers most. Microsoft have done such bad market research that they have literally done a 180 on most of the consoles policies.

Sony had the right to go on the warpath about the jailbreaking of their console. Plain and simple it shouldn't really be done. The fact of the other scandal, Playstation should not really have been involved. They are different sectors of a large corporation. It is basically like attacking Bioware because EA made a bad decision.

While the gamers themselves shouldnt have had to suffer, playstation IS sony and every dollar spent on it;s products and services supports its over all revenue and effects its stock, and in turn give it the weighty leverage to try and effect legislation.

Playstation is part of a corperation that wants to curb your freedoms, sue and prosecute people.

XBOX wanted to have a 24 hr. check in...

that's funny. I own an xbox 360 and a ps3 same internet conection (wireless/b/dsl) and my xbox never drops out my ps3 at least twice a day and i'm a ps+ member as well. i also own a ps3 slim.

Well hate it for ya bro, but my PS3 works and stays connected [to PSN] great.
