I didn't play the BETA so could anyone answer some questions for me....

Hi all,

Apologies in advance if this thread annoys etc, i don't mean for it to.


I did not play the BETA, nor until a few days ago did i even know of this game. I now have it pre ordered as i like what i hear. Its a MMOTPS is that right? I don't have a laptop capable enough of playing those kind of games so this will be a first for me on the xbox 360 so i'm quite looking forward to it. I just have a couple of questions though?

In the open world, can you kill other ark hunters without TDM etc. Just see them and kill them because you're ruthless? I'm no killer, i just don't want to assist someone and then get killed and robbed!!


Can you party up with friends?


Can i trade with other players i meet on my travels?


Is the "open world" really that OPEN!!?


Anything else that i may have missed that would be worth knowing based on what i'm asking above?

The game world is quite large. Much larger than RD:R if you've played that. Also you can trade with friends, I did by dropping guns, and you can group with your friends. Hope this helped.

So you can only trade with friends and not with anyone you meet on your travels in the big wide world?

You don't have to worry about getting killed, you physically have to start a death match with people in order to hunt them and then are transported to an exclusive area where you all battle it out. So there is no need to worry about getting shot in the back cause somebody turned on PK, as that's not an option... yet.. If you participate in a shadow war, anyone can pick you off if they too are participating in it but you can walk into the shadow war zone, and not be killed so long as your not joining it.

Trading can be done through a special trade menu and select who you want to trade with, rest is already answered .

Cheers fella's, i'm quite looking forward to this. Though i'm somewhat worried that not everyone knows of this game!! Bar one vid on the xbox nothing else has really been mentioned. I heard about it via word of mouth and then looked it up for myself.

I'd love more of the people on my friends list to get it, i just hope they know about it.

No, you have to join the Shadow War to participate in PvP, or flag in open PvP areas of the game.

Can you party up with friends?

Yes, Xbox is a 4 persons group.

Yep.

You can look to the skyline, hop on your quad and drive for quite a while up and over hills, hellbug nests, mutants, and the occasional raider or two. From the Beta a drive from the starter area to the next real 'safe zone' was about a good few minutes. It's open enough that they have included fast travel on the map so you can go to central locations versus having to drive for a long period of time. Oh and they gave us vehicles cause again, the world is that OPEN!

If your getting it for Xbox make sure you have a chatpad and a reliable headset for voice comm.
Also if you haven't start working on your Ark fall codes, you can search the forums for them if and enter them in your My EGO you'll be happy you did.
