    Building a New Gaming Rig

I've had my current PC for about 5 years now. It's running the following specs:

    Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
    AMD Phenom II X4 940 59 °C
    Deneb 45nm Technology
    4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 401MHz (5-5-5-15)
ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A79 Deluxe (AM2)
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (Sapphire/PCPartner)

I think it's time for a serious upgrade. Problem is, I haven't built a PC in years, so I was wondering if some of you would help.

I do NOT want windows 8.

Also, I was wondering if the following would be a good buy:

    First off, what's your budget?
To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some type of weird sandwich, not some nut who takes on three tigers.

I don't want to spend anymore than 2,000. I will also be purchasing parts over a 2 or 3 month period. I don't expect to be at the 100% top of the line, but I do need something a lot better than what I already have.

the combo with the a10 and motherboard for 209 is a good deal and the a10 processor is nice because if you run it with another radeon hd graphics card they will run in cross fire because the processor has its own deticated graphics =]

That link looks like a good deal. With an SSD, 8 gigs of Ram and a current gen video card you would be set for another five years.

Do they make laptops powerful enough to play video games? I think I may want to buy one of those instead, because I'm starting to want to go mobile.

Screw iBuyPower, if you have 2k to spend learn to build.
2k will make a beast machine.
