Thread: World Expansion

    World Expansion

I saw some hand sketched maps of the new terraformed Earth of the future in the Defiance realm and read some descriptions and started wondering if the game will expand into this new world or if we're forever stuck in the Bay Area. Votan rainforests with human skyscrapers and castles in Germany, an ice tundra that stretches from France to Switzerland, the various new landscapes of North America, Canada, Mexico and South America, it sounds great. I also think that the game is getting a bit "over crowded" with bad guys, there isn't as much empty territory as I thought there would be, I mean I've completed emergencies then simply walked to the next one. I know its just a game but the logistics concerning NPC population doesn't make any sense, its getting just as bad as Skyrim, seriously a dozen chickens and like 4 dozen pows are supposed to support that entire region? Why don't the hundreds of Raiders or 99ers simply defeat the 40 farmers and miners that are scattered throughout the Bay Area and take over?

Yeah regular problem with MMORPGs is that there are way too many mobs. I understand that otherwise people would be waiting for them to spawn, but it is real immersion breaker when you can throw stone in every direction and hit an enemy. Especially since the (crappy) tv show didn't have anything that would have come even close.
And yeah emergencies could use way longer spawn time. I swear every time I've visited Iron Demon ranch that emergency outside has been going or at least has started while I was there. You just eventually stop caring with these spawn rates.

    The map in question.

Just noticed this... "Also still intact is the Palace of Fine Arts, now known as Fort Defiance" too bad we don't have access to it.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

To me UK, Edmonton and Key Diego sound way more interesting than anything the show or game offers at the moment.

How the hell did Timmins Ontario survive? Earth republic can have Toronto that makes sense. Toronto has always been a smelly city and place where you came from anyways.

Vancouver surviving now that's the great. At least we still have Whistler, Howe Sound and the McDonalds in Squamish on the way there. What more can you ask for? The best part of Canada survived.

Winnipeg as a free republic.(head scratch) They are welcome to it.

I mean c'mon you ever been to Winnipeg? There its just a bunch of rednecks chewing wheat becuase they can't afford gum and hunting gophers. Their football team could never beat the Loins in a straight up game anyway.- we all know that.

I always found it amusing from that map that the proposed mag lift rail will by no means go to the San Fran area. Not only is the game lacking content, its lore even wants to avoid and isolate them :P
