that would be a first for an mmorpg, because those codes are not reuseable and the console discs will not have a used copy value

Apparently the games come with a code in the box which you input on the site to gain the bonuses

You don't have to buy 2 copies of the game to get bonuses. You can wait for the UE to be released on 12 April and still get those bonuses.

What some people are doing is ordering the standard edition as well from Amazon to ensure they have it 2 April (although you are too late on this now) and then returning that for a refund once the ultimate edition arrives.

right that's how mmorpg's work, although generally the code is edition-specific, not multiple codes in the same box.

any retailer offering refunds for this is taking a big risk and deserves your repeat business.

It might be a first for mmorpg's, but this is an mmotps.

once the code in the box is used retailers generally won't accept the game back for refund especially since you can simply install the game and not use the disc to run the 360 version.

any retailer offering that refund is eating $60. the game can not be resold once that code is used.

it's still an mmo. unlike regular console games the disc in the box is worthless. the code in the box IS the game.

it's the first mmo PERIOD for the 360 since final fantasy xi, and the 2nd for the ps3 (dcuo was the first). with dcuo the code was the game - just like all pc mmo games - and no company would accept the game as a trade-in because of this, nor accept refunds of it opened.

any retailer offering this to those affected by the UE issue deserve your repeat business. unless trion is compensating them, they are eating the full price of the standard edition.

I haven't really been looking but has Namco Bandai announced anything about the delay?

In general Amazon has a no return policy on software. Console games are a grey area. Yesterday I noticed there were some mixed responses about returning/swapping editions. I will be having a team meeting tomorrow so i'll get the official policy on this and will post it on here sometime after 5pm
