I meant that I had asked whether I could return the game opened and that was Amazon's response. Due to their response I pre-ordered from Game instead. I will be keeping the Amazon UE edition as well (because I want it) but posted what I did for people to see what Amazon are saying. Having re-read my earlier posts I wasn't clear, so apologies for the confusion.
My view is that you will not be able to return an opened standard edition copy to Amazon in the hope of a refund once the UE arrives.
Thanks Sledge. There were four questions there but the cut/paste didn't work out.
It should have read
- What is the reason behind the delayed release of the UE/CE editions in various parts of Europe?
- If I enter a standard edition code, will I be able to redeem an ultimate edition code at a later date?
- How does the code work to link our accounts with the Trion account (is it generated ingame or on a separate card)?
- Why was there such short notice of the delay, particularly when it was so close to a long bank holiday weekend and the issues had been raised in Germany several days before?
Is your #2 answer to #2 or #3 on this list?
Thanks in advance.
As long as you got it in writing you can and will, below is the key line from the email I got them to send me to confirm I can send it back after playing it.
"I'm really sorry for any disappointment caused by the delay of your order for Defiance: Ultimate Edition (Xbox 360).
If you would like to order the standard edition so that you can play from release date, you can certainly return it for a refund once the ultimate edition arrives.
