    Ive seen in a few threads now-by SLEDGE,Trion customer support-that we can stack the codes...so im reasonbly satisified. Still an element of doubt,but i guess ill find out soon enough!

    We certainly will! I just wish I knew whether I can give a copy to a friend or if I'll be stuck with two copies because nobody else can use them.

    From what I've seen over the last few days, it looks like you will be stuck with 2 copies that no one else can use because you would have redeemed the code for both copies. Could be completely wrong though.

    I think you will be able to give/sell it. with no problem.
    I have looked on the back of the manual from my brothers standard copy that turned up today.
    and it appears the code is only for some DLC, nothing about linking the SE copy of the game to your trion account.

    If they want the gear and use the code, can't give it to anyone else. If they don't plan on using the code themselves, they can give the copy away.

    Yeh I was hoping that. I won't even need to put the UE disc into my Xbox.

    I won't use the SE bonus code and will hand that to a friend along with the UE game disc when it arrives. As long as we both have linked game discs and bonus content then I'm happy.

    No they will not, they will want the SE returning as that is what we have agreed. Seriously Amazon do not care because they will just be claiming it back from the supplier that caused them all this hassel.

    Retailers are bound by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (in the UK) and so I can assure you the events will transpire exactly as described.

    You need to understand that as a consumer you have rights and that just because a retailer tells you something it doesn't make it so.

    Ok I will just put the whole email conversation I had with Trion customer service. Some of it says one thing and then its completely different just judge by yourselves. One or two I have already posted in this thread or the previous one so sore for double posting but just want to keep it as a whole.

    Hello Matt,

    You can link your Ultimate Edition to your Standard Edition account but cannot unlink them. I recommend creating a second account with your Ultimate edition so you can have two accounts for the game. You will also not be able to apply the additional codes without consuming all of the the Ultimate Edition codes.

    Just one more thing.
    When I link SE to my account and then get my UE would I have to link that one too or just simply put the rest of the additional codes onto my account with SE linked?
    If additional content can be added to SE from UE without using link code from UE that means that I could link another account to the spare link code right?
    If I have to use 2 link codes though is there any theoretical way of 'unlinking' SE in exchange for UE?

    In these circumstances with the delay and all you could treat that operation as a form of compensation for the problem with release date of UE. I understand it is not your fault just the manufacturer but from my point of view you have a bit of responsibility towards your customers regarding this issue.

    I just dont want to left with one copy of the game that will cost me £40 that only I can use when I will have UE of the same game. So simply speaking I dont want spend over £100 on one game if I can avoid it.
    Whole point of this is that I want to play it on release date because I booked off from work just for that and I cant just cancel it so I will be wasting annual leave for nothing just to see my friends have fun on Defiance while I watch them
    I know games are being created for profit but that would be a bit unfair to spend more money on the same product while I am already going for the most expensive version.

    I wouldnt be able to sell one of them anyway but my friend would love to have it and due to his financial issue atm he wont be able to buy it himself.

    So please just help a customer who is really looking forward to play Defiance and spend some money on bits in- game

    Just to clarify things some, let me first say that if you purchase the Standard Edition and link your Xbox Live account to your Trion Worlds account that there should not be any problems then "upgrading" that account to include all the items and content available with the Ultimate Edition once it arrives. However, if your desire is to purchase the Standard Edition and link it to your Trion Worlds account, you could not then "gift" that to another player--once it has been linked, it is attached to your Trion Worlds account and cannot be moved to another Trion Worlds account. If you have any issues with upgrading your account in this way, please let us know and we will do whatever we can to resolve it.

    To summarize, if you choose to purchase the Standard Edition for Xbox 360 and play on it with your Xbox Live account, it is yours and will be linked to your the Trion Worlds account used to access the game. You could then use the codes with your Ultimate Edition to upgrade that account to access the additional items/content.

    On a side note, you had mentioned in your initial email a rumor that some content would be unavailable after the first episode of the TV show airs. We here at Trion support can neither confirm or deny any such rumor or suggestion and cannot speculate about the availability of content.

    Sorry to be bothering you again I promise it is the last time

    In regards to the unique codes and SE and UE as I mentioned before if I buy SE (which I most definitely will do) and use the code to link to xbox and then get my UE with new link code is that code that will come with UE possible to link other xbox with just SE? In other word are these codes for the same thing and can be swapped with different editions of the game?

    Hello again

    Yes I do realize it might get in conflict but taking in consideration the delay of Ultimate Edition which I have on pre order with amazon and my anticipation to get into Defiance world (like I mantioned before I took off from work for the release of the game) it is possible to do right?
    If you can please answer me this if standard edition contains code to link xbox to my account and ultimate edition has its own code how is the additional content that comes with UE going to be redeemed? Is it like every other game just bunch of additional codes that I will have to redeem via xbox or is it bound to the unique code that comes with UE to link to xbox?
    Whole point of this is to be able to 'swap' standard edition for UE when it arrives and give it to my friend who wouldnt have got it otherwise.
    I just dont want to be left with 2 copies of the same game at the end. Surely something can be done in these circumstances with the delay. You can treat it as a compensation in a way

    So from what you have written if I buy standard edition and then get my ultimate edition on 12/04 I shouldn't have any problems getting all my additional content from UE even when I use the unique code from SE to link my acc to my xbox. Is that what you are trying to say?
