Then you have no understanding of your own rights a a consumer. They will not be doing anything other then refunding my money. They said it and I have done it, the law sides with me.

While we're on the subject of the law, which I'm sure you always want on your side, you know that you're committing fraud, right? You bought that with the intent to use it and return it in a state that they cannot resell or even get credit for, which is considered 'obtaining property by false pretenses'.

You are, literally, committing a felony, and encouraging others to do so. Both of which are illegal acts, and as such are also violations of the Trion ToS for the forums, which could get you banned.

lol thanks. This whole thing blew up just after i joined. I'm not an official spokesman for Amazon by any means. The alarm bells started ringing when I saw the chat logs and I thought I should go and see what the position is. I hope there will be some people who will see my last post and take it seriously. It sucks that the U.E has been delayed but it's better to stick it out for a few days than lose money.

regardless of the law involved, it seems like amazon is the focus of at least one of the local news channels' consumer report attempts to intervene on a customers' behalf

i really would not expect to get your money back on an opened copy of the standard regardless of what a CSR told you.

Ok so I contacted Trion Customer Support for the last time regarding this subject and is seems that we are not gonna get any compensation for the lost 10 day not even will they consider unlinking Standard Edition to replace for Ultimate Edition in a way that Standard Edition would be usable to someone else. If you ask me this action is purely money driven beacuse if you are eagar to play on 02/04 instead 12/04 you need to simply buy another version of the game which is pointless...
Maybe there is a conspiracy to boost sales of the game in that way hehe gaming 'watergate' lol
Anyway here is the last email from Trion where I asked if they could unlink standard edition for ultimate edition for us on 12/04 as a compensation also my question was if after linking SE do we have to link UE here is what I got:

Thank you for contacting us regarding Defiance.

You can link your Ultimate Edition to your Standard Edition account but cannot unlink them. I recommend creating a second account with your Ultimate edition so you can have two accounts for the game. You will also not be able to apply the additional codes without consuming all of the the Ultimate Edition codes.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thank you for your continued support of Trion Worlds and for playing Defiance.

Your reference number for this ticket is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Any official word on this yet? I have tweeted @defiancegame a few times asking for help but as I'm sure you have guessed, not had a response.

Honestly again I know we may be a small group affected, but with all the conflicting stories/information it would be nice to just get the issue cleared up officially.

I guess we will wait til Tuesday, the forum folk will be off for Easter as well.

My SE arrived this morning and I've installed it to HD and followed the internal installation the the game requests. After doing so the game moves to a never ending loading screen* due to the servers not being available. So far so obvious. No requests for linking as yet.

Inside the box the only code is for the bonuses relevant to the SE edition. The post above is interesting as I would have thought that any Defiance game disc would be sufficient to link the account. That would mean that when the UE edition arrives, you'd only need to input the UE specific bonus codes.

That Trion email does seem to put the dampners on that theory though. Roll on Tuesday...

* The second time onwards (I was curious ok!) the screen goes blank and you have to physically switch off your console to unfreeze it. Do not attempt to be a curious as me! Stay patient :-)

That's exactly how the community is at the moment. Is it going to just be codes on cards (like on most other games) for the UE content, but the actual game is the same across the board (as in all games are SE).

Jus a quick question amazon UE switched 2 SE as told would be here on time , its sat@10:15am just checked my order an its still not sent out as Sunday is an no post day an Monday is a bank holiday what are my chances it'll be on my door Tuesday as stated need to know as my local game has STOCK funny how that helps sell a game

Can't say mate, if its not sent now I doubt it would be because of the bank holiday.
