Could deleting patch data fix?...

Can't DL patch as of this morning, fails to obtain version files. after 2nd attempt, cleared system cache. then 360 guide menus prompted me to update defiance around noon PST. Completed THAT patch, then was prompted to enter my xbox login info to sign back in to live...that worked...and now Defiance updater still refuses to complete with failed version fetching laziness.

Has anyone tried deleting the 70+Mb of patch data off their HD and patching? I'm about to, but i want a second opinion. or ten.

I can't get past the patch screen either. I don't know what to do. I am not that savvy when it comes to gaming so I usually suffer until it fixes itself. I am really starting to hate this game! I feel like every time I try to play, I get errors, crash or for whatever reason can't login.

I love this game, I got it at release and I think the mechanics and the pacing and the story are all phenomenal but FFS quality assurance is non existent
