Pro tip: Forums are more fun than this game.

As for my habits, I'm glad someone has noticed. Being cynical about this game and its mismanagement of it by Trion was not my initial intention to start when I first joined the forums, but after a couple of patches and the downhill slide of the work Trion was putting out, I felt it necessary to drill home some change.

It may have fallen on deaf ears, but a new E.P. is here and now we might get some much needed things this game deserves! With the current track record though I will not hold my breath. I'm here from games like Gears of War, Borderlands, Halo. As I said in previous posts, Defiance is a good shooter but everything else in it needs to be upgraded. I also came from MxO and Star wars and a little bit of WoW, so I know the chat system in Defiance is pure garbage when comparing it to those titles. In fact, the whole social aspect is a joke.

One last bit of information, I think Falling Skies is a better show than Defiance.

Comparing a budget Syfy channel show with a show produced by Steven Spielberg is like comparing a skateboard with a Porsche.

The worst game probably ever to hit Steam, Infestation: Survivor Stories, formerly known as WarZ is selling for $14.99. It has a Metascore rating of 20. (yes.. 20). It is made by a nothing company ran by nobodies with no advertising, inept devs, and a crapload of pissed-off past and present customers.

So, the question is: are people really that stupid or is this game that bad and that poorly run?

Can someone who's into Steam stats explain just how this is possible or am I misreading something?
I can only ask if you are so much of a sheep that some random metascore about anything matters to you. Form your own opinion, don't let it be formed for you. The world needs less sheep!

I use raptr and the numbers look better on there. These are just people that have joined the Defiance community on there, so not necessarily the total number of people on raptr. Out of 101,608 members 43,842 Members are active on Defiance as of 07/24/2013 8:30 PM EST. That is not specific on systems either since Raptr records time played in games you play on consoles and PC.

I know right? Who wants to ride on a dinky skateboard when you can have a Porsche!

The game overall isn't horrible but it's not a great game. I say this as a console gammer (ps3) and former pc gamer. Some of the major issues with this game from what I've seen is that socially this game just horrible. It's worst than dcuo and chat consistently goes on the fritz there but the major difference is that you can actually here people and have settings so you can actually hear people if you have a low end headset. Alongside that this game has no endgame minus contracts and pvp which offer little to no satisfaction for some one whose already maxed those out.

FWIW it was Showtime that brought us Stargate SG1, Sci-Fi (later SyFy, ugh) didn't pick it up until the sixth season.

As long as there are sheople in the world that go along with what others tell them versus finding out for themselves, this kind of nonsense will continue to permeate our society - game side or not. Critics almost always have an agenda they adhere to which forces their decision down a biased path. I DO think that the introduction to limited F2P access has greatly helped put some of these Dbag critic sites in their place but its still an issue when a negative comment is placed on a game for no other reason than the critic waking up on the wrong side of life that morning.

Edit: and yes I do know that from time to time a critic hits the nail on the head, but that's like throwing 1 million pebbles over the side of a hot air balloon... Eventually you'll hit something. Acting like you're a crackshot ace after the fact is just plain doosh-lvl lame.
