Just because we're deaf doesn't mean we can't play the game!

I'm a 38yr old gamer (yes... a geezer) and I'm deaf. I've played with a few people in defiance and every time they find out I'm deaf and can't "talk" while playing, I never hear from them again. Are there any clans that are friendly to the deaf that I can play with? It takes me a while to type so it's a little frustrating (X-Box doesn't make it easy, or quick, to type), but I'm a good player and I'm fair.

You can use any usb keyboard to type faster or get a type pad for the controller

Amazon.com has a headset, keypad, one year gold account and 400 MS points for 60 bucks, so the year of live and points could go toward your xbox 1 future purchase.

Go buy a $10 USB Keyboard from Best Buy. Or ask around, im sure theres a friend with a spare keyboard somewhere. I just leave the keyboard plugged in and throw it to the side when im not using it (But im close enough to my console i am able to use a cheap, corded board). You'll easily be able to get used to having it in your lap though while gaming...

All that said, WAIT until the new system comes out before spending any more, especially if its some bundle deal, just for Defiance. Theres supposed to be a new system in the works for Chat... Which isnt that great in this game anyways.

As far as any Deaf-friendly clans... If you cant convey to a clan via chat whatever you are looking for/asking about/trying to setup, then chances are, that clan blows in general.

I'm a mute, so I have the talking problem too. I have a Microsoft Ergo Keyboard attached to my Xbox, which makes it much faster than using the built in imput or the chat pad. Any USB keyboard would work, I believe even wireless ones, long as you have the USB dongle for it.
