1. Climb your way to thick skinned perk, cellular armor and fortitude. Those are your bread and butter perks.
2. Don't go Jon Rambo or Chuck Norris (hah). Always find cover. You can run around like crazy but if you have no cover with you exposed to 3-5 enemies you know where you're gonna end on. The AI targeting system here is absolute, if you can't find cover in 5 seconds, consider yourself paying 180 scrip for the janitorial services that will be cleaning up aisle 7.
3. test out the right guns for you.
4. know thy enemy. If it's hellbugs, try to find weakspots and roll away from their attacks. If it's raiders, mutants, and 99ers, cover, cover, cover.

I am very frustrated...I wanted to be able to play because I love the show so much...

Maybe you can give us an idea of what you're having an issue with, and we can try to give you some advice/tips, since several folks posting here are console players and can't join you on PC.

Might help you until you can hook up with a PC player in the game.

I guess I am needing to figure out the mechanics of the game...how does one get the thick skinned perk?
How how to move, shoot, play the game properly...How do you join groups or find a group. I usually do these sort of games with friends or roommates in voice chats, however none of them play this one. i am not stupid, just a beginner

You can unlock perks by pressing K. Every level you gain unlocks a perk point for you. You can use it to upgrade it based on what you chose at the start. If you chose cloak, you have to enable the perks to get to thick skinned, etc. The closest to those is the overpower.

As mentioned keep moving and take cover. Surprisingly I find the concept very similar to real life coming from being an infantryman. When you engage do NOT try to take down more than one or two enemies at a time. Not only will you be exposed to enemy fire too long but they will move onto your position but you will run out of ammo pop up, empty a clip into an enemy or two, hide and reload.

Prioritize enemies by threat as well. When fighting hellbugs get rid of the flying ones first. Their range bombs will make you cry. If a grenadier mutant pops out with raiders ignore him but find cover from his attacks. He has a mass of health and is a tank. If you focus him the normal raiders will mop you up. Kill the weaker ones then he will be isolated with a slow clumsy firerate and you can rain the blows on his face.

one thing you can do is go to the clan section and find a pc clan. if you are in a good clan you have clan mates to help you.
