Price drop is insulting.

Just saw they dropped the price of the Season Pass now, too.

I feel like people who have had the SP attached to their accounts (in my case, despite my best attempts to have it removed and refunded) since launchish should be compensated in some way.

We paid when it was a show of faith, and now it's a cash grab.

Also, since I know some of you will go there with this, I'm not mad about lowering the price of the game itself. I paid full price and got a lot of enjoyable time out of the game for that money... but to lower the price of the SP before any of the DLC has come out is just flatly ridiculous.

It's definitely insulting to those who bought the season pass to have the price of the season pass LOWERED WHEN THE DLC HASN'T EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET TO ANYONE!

I really think, out of all the things people on these forums have complained about, that this single action right here is the worst. It negatively portrays their ability to meet their own deadlines. I paid full price for my season pass. I still like the game. But will I see my $10 refunded to me? Hell no. And even though it's only $10, that really pisses me off.

I had not heard about the season pass being reduced.while I agree it sucks there's really nothing we can do. Regardless I'll still keep playing and hey I got that hellbug hat which keeps my eyes from the Sun.

Either way at $20 that's greatly lowered the barrier of entry as-is, and even at $20 this game gives a huge bang for one's buck.

It's not a 'bang for someone's buck' unless that person sees it thusly. I mean, I remember the "Yugo" came to the US. It was a great 'bang for the buck' until most people realized it wasn't and they went out of business.



So far, there hasn't been a lot of takers at $40, $30, or even $20 so $10 still make not be a good deal. It sounds like a good deal to you and many existing players because they've paid $60.

But to people watching this company piddle away any semblance of competency (like with this turret fiasco now), $5 may still not be a bang, but more like a whimper.

They really need to stop dropping the price every week (it seems) and just do the F2P because the constant fall in price devalues the 'bang' of the game in perception and makes people less likely to try it.. not more.

Keep in mind that DC Universe Online is both a PC and PS3 MMO, and it went free to play after 11 months of live launch just fine.

DCUO had to suffer through PSN network being down for the hack. That really hurt their plans for the game. So they decided to make the game free with a sub plan and also gave the first DLC free to anyone that had a sub prior to PSN going down. Since that game went F2P its become more profitable and content has been added about every 3-4 months.

Same exact things I always think to myself whenever I see threads on this subject. Same doom and gloom posts popped up on those forums back when the move to F2P was made. People threatening to cancel their subs, people demanding refunds, etc. etc.

Meh, whatever... I spent my money months ago on this game... water under the bridge, IMHO.

DC Universe was a specific small niche area (superheroes) in a specific niche subset (mmorpgs).

Defiance is neither in a niche game area (science fiction/alien fighter) or subset (dudebro FPS).

So not the same.
