How are people getting such ridiculous amounts of scrip?

Whites break down to 250 salvage or you can sell for 100 = 2.5/1 salvage to scrip
Green break down to 500 salvage or sell for 200 = 2.5/1 salvage to scrip
Blue 750 salvage or 400 script = 1.87/1 salvage to scrip
Purple is 1000 salvage or 1000 scrip which is a 1/1 salvage to scrip
Oranges - only sell to over eager "buying orange weapons" people at arkfalls.

You get more bang for your breakdown buck when breaking down your whites and greens and sell your blues and purples.

The guy you said had the winning answer said to do exactly the opposite of what you said.

Just to point out, 750k-1Mil is nothing compared to what the real high Defiance rollers have in their bank. I saw about a week ago some guy bragging about have 22Mil! It manily comes down to playing ALOT and being smart, or a scammer, when it comes to trading and selling.

Sell blues and purples, Salvage whites and greens. That's what I did. Pursuit finished and currently sitting on 520k. Did have more but I bought a bunch of vendor weapons to level with.

Well, it depends what you want. I'm at the point where I basically don't spend ark salvage. Like, at all. I'm currently EGO 3500 and don't plan to spend a single unit of the stuff. Unless a really great blue/purple/orange comes my way that looks like it would be a permanent "best in class" weapon.

So for me, where I have a lot of salvage banked and no plans whatsoever to spend any of it, I'm more concerned about getting cash for buying mods at this point. I get WAY more whites and greens than anything else so for me selling those nets me more scrip.

If someone wanted more salvage than scrip, but a steady stream of both, than salvaging whites and greens while vendoring blues and purples is the way to go.

It just depends on which of the two is one's priority.

If you don't convert gear/mods to arksalvage that you get but instead vendor trash them and you just play the game, you can get tons of scrip pretty quickly, especially after boost weekends.

Find orange then do what everyone else does and charge 2million script for the pos with a self revive bonus.

Yeah you probably got ripped off. I haven't seen a shield I would pay 250k scrip for. It happens. At least it didn't hurt you too much. And besides, there really isn't much to spend scrip on, so if getting that shield helped you finish a pursuit or you use it and it made you happy, than you shouldn't see it as a rip off.

It is really not all that hard, just sell things and get things, and sell more things. I've had well over 2 mil, given away about half that to friends in need just from playing the game.

What is the point of having a bunch of scrip if you already have better weapons than the vendors sells, and all the vehicles?

I seems to me that the best use of an orange item that you don't need is to trade it for an item that you will actually use, unless I'm missing something.

While I may not have 25mil in scrip, I am certainly not broke.
I have a constant need for salvage and scrip. Depends on which
one I need more, as to what I do. Sell Everything or Scrap
Everything. if both are in need, switch back and forth.
Co-ops or keycode missions (San Quintin prison) drop tons
of weapons.. play.. collect all weapons.. xp, scrip, keycodes when finished.
Sell or Salvage.. repeat.
