I think Defiance will be popular enough with ppl playing the game it should get quite a few seasons but I could be wrong.
Technically, Stargate and BSG had followings before SciFi was even a thought in someones head, so They were pretty big before they started running with SciFi, Continuum is a crap story, with a decent cast. I don't see it lasting long.
Don't get me wrong, if SciFi was a channel I could watch, my TV probably would never see another channel, and I really hope this show suceeds, as long as they stay away from temporal paradox's, I got no beef..

I expect less from this show, because frankly, it seems dumb. Expect a less than stellar performance ratings wise.
I beg to differ, the 2004 series of Battlestar Galactica did rather well! Simply because it was with the times with the concept "who can we trust?"

Syfy airs full episodes of some series online at its website.

isn't continuum a canadian show that scifi picked up and played the reruns this season? Being Human is pretty popular, also another remake type show but scifi owns that one. Scifi tends to make a lot of guilty pleasure shows and remake shows. I think with Defiance having that wild west space frontier many firefly types will be excited to see this sort of Genre continue. SciFI isn't known for keeping good shows going though lol.

I hope the tv show succeeds but I guess if not than the game will just have to go on on its own

Lol, it is ironic that you mention NBC in context with SyFy. A little bit of research would have shown you that NBC owns SyFy....

And NBC has investments in Trion. Oh, it makes sense now doesn't it. Read this article if you haven't It is very enlightening.

    http://www.gameinformer.com/b/featur...-rob-hill.aspx

But long story made short, Trion has major investment from NBC. Trion had been looking at doing a game based on a NBC property for a while. NBC owns SyFy. One day, Trion's CEO and SyFy's CEO get together and decide that doing a game on an existing property is too narrow. So they decide to do something different and make a show and game at that same time that will automatically work together and separately from each other.

So there is no real worry about the TV show affecting the game and vice versa....

BSG was HUGE! during its airing you kidding me? xD i watched that ish every new episode. it was phenomenal. and i have no doubt that Defiance will do the same if not better. in fact better because its got the concept of a game AND tv show backing eachother up. there is no reason for this venture to fail, absolutley none !
