that's a good point, i think we'll have to wait and see.... since i believe dashboard install isn't a complete client install, since if you look at most game installs... are about 5gbs.... to be honest... that's about 1/6th of the data stored on standard disks and most will notice even installing doesn't completely prevent disk from spinning, and most games are still played from the Cd directly... so i again assume they fallow the path of FFXI and will have you install the client to optimize performance thru the HDD rather fighting with the CD ... and have you download the patch after install of client

Yeah didn't ff13 prove this as the game still ran fmv and in game cutscenes of the disc even after an install.

An xbox 360 install is a complete install, and Xbox DVDs only hold 7/8 gigs of data.
The disc spinning is a security check to ensure the disc is still in the tray.

i wouldn't know, personally FF has took a dive in my enjoyment of those games. They just don't capture the FF art/story i grew up with playing.. they lost me when they went more futuristic... i personally like the art style and setting of my FF games in the FF 2,5,9... but 10 was a nice mix of both. not saying i don't like if FF isn't in those settings, just find it more enjoyable

Installs should be done for every single game regardless. Why play from a slow loading disc drive when you can from a faster hard drive. Doesn't make any sense

I would love to start all my games then it spins the disc back down until I quit or eject. Less noise and less power usage. If current gen had that option i would of put an SSD in my console years ago.

Allegedly the next gen consoles will have the 100% feature. I expect a tie-in with an SSD manufacturer on the top end models. Makes sense.
