Lets talk refund options

Hello all, I like you am a gamer
I have a PC loaded with fun games ready to go. Defiance has been one of them since Beta began and omg I was so excited during the first month of beta, However I quickly lost interest in the game during beta do to issues, lag, bugs, and little to no content. I was informed by developers VIA there announcements that the game would quickly get content through 5 DLC packs in the first year alone. I was also informed that many issues with Hackers, lag, and bugs had been fixed during beta.
I played after launch for a good two months solid, got over ego rating 1.5K and loaded myself out with decent purples ( because I never found any orange)
Well its been a good 5 months now and the First DLC has been pushed back for a 3rd time, not only has it been pushed back but now arenas are solo, the 4 man vehicle has no chain gun ((this pisses me off more then anything!!)) and hackers are controlling pvp so tightly that in 20 matches I got 10 kills....10 kills....
As a consumer I feel that I have been mislead by developers who promised me (and every other gamer that played this game) a large amount of things that have not been delivered.
I payed for the deluxe edition, ( thank god I didn't go full out and get the 125$ collectors edition) and the DLC season pass.
Only resonantly did I receive my red vbi armor.... that was crap.

DLC is being delayed and changed from what we where told we would get.
Contest are horrible, (what person is going to play none stop for an entire month doing major ark falls that spawn in zones you cant even see?? Why not instead have a PVP tournament oh wait thats right hackers would win)
The game has no content past some side missions and a storyline that can be beaten in under 4 hours
The game is now being sold for $10....TEN DOLLARS
I would like to respectfully request that TRION refund me all the money I have spent on this "game"
I think this is something everyone who feels as strongly about this as I should demand because this company has taken our money while promising an equivalent exchange in goods and services without actually meeting the requirements for keeping our money.

this is what I want, however I don't think the Devs will part with our stolen money. So I ask you the rest of the gamers who have allowed your selves to be swindled what forms of refund would you accept for this atrocity?

Please only post in this thread if you have something of value to add, stating that I am incorrect is not considered valid without source to prove that I am incorrect, the reason it is not valid is because this is my opinion and you cant tell me that my feeling cheated and stolen from is wrong because we have all be lied to and stolen from here.

If you enjoy the game and think everything is perfect or you have no complaints then that is great please make a separate thread where you and everyone else that feel like you can post about it! This thread is for others who feel as strongly about the injustice done here as I.

Also if you are going to leave a comment about "why don't you just go play another game" you can rest assured that I have and will directly after posting this, I am only making this post because I would like to find out how many other people want their money back, and because I payed good hard earned cash for a game that never delivered to me what I was promised.

A good analogy for this would be if you went to wal-mart and bought a box of cheese-its only to return home and find the box 3/4th empty you would return to wal-mart and ask for your money back or an exchange for a full box of cheese-its.

Honestly, you cannot expect all your "needs" in a game "if" said game didn't generate the revenue to actually address those "needs".

So you ate the food and enjoyed it, but because you got tired of the same old menu, you want your money back from that first meal? Address your logic on this matter please.


Honestly, this game was designed to be a SINGLE PLAYER GAME that takes place in an ONLINE WORLD. Just looking at how the missions work makes that pretty obvious. Defiance is not WOW or EQ and you just cannot expect that type of development in a game that was released in the twilight of 2/3's of the supported hardware.

I have no doubts that you will get your five DLC releases that you already paid for. If however that doesn't happen, then and only then would you have a case on getting the money you paid for a season pass refunded. I say case because the only way Trion Worlds wouldn't release those five DLC's is if they went out of business and I don't see that happening anytime soon (thus the cuts).

It's also worth noting that this is a public forum, owned and operated by Trion Worlds. That said, you don't get to set the policy on what posters are allowed to actually post.

Anyway, yeah, Defiance is a single player game that just happens to live in an online world. And like other single player games, you pick them up and put them down as content is released. So go play something else until your first DLC is released and stop raging over peanuts.

You are not going to get that many people who support you.

You payed for a game with not recurring subscription for 2 months solid. I'd say you got your money's worth. People are always upset when a game they purchased for $60-80 bucks is discounted. It happens.

You can still log into the game and play. And there is the whole Caveat emptor thing that happens with games and digital media. Especially months after the purchase was completed.

This isn't a hate or a flame. Just stating facts from your post and other things.

As far as adding to this thread. It would be a good PR stunt if they game some digital junk to us who spent a lot of money on the game before it was so insanely discounted. I wouldn't want a refund since I have gotten use out of the game. Just would like some swag for being an early adopter. All though I did get some swag for buying the digital deluxe.

I bought this game expecting to get play time out of it. People had the same issue when ever they discounted Dead Island and other games. I've bought Xbox games and had them discounted but I still got use out of it.
