Shoot First, Smell the Roses Later?

During the beta I saw many things. The one thing that struck me the most was the detail. In the PVP someone got a head shot on me. I actually heard my skull come apart. The art work was incredible. Driving through the rugged terrain made my rear hurt whilst sitting on my couch. Every view was crisp, from the blades of grass to the stars in the night's sky. The team who put this together put away all the stops. I hope they continue to live up to their detailing standards when add ons are released.

When the game started you could hear the wind blowing and I don't use beaches. There were sounds of insects. While driving a vehicle, the tires made the sound studded radials make. I actually took a small hike up mount Tam I saw a dead tree. The tree looked like actual wood. In places down below the mountain, decrepit structures were designed where people would be figured to just run past. I stopped to look. You could see rivets and patterns in metal, under and above structures. The reason I bring the tree and this structure up is most other games might just leave these items alone because no one would think to stop and smell the roses. The Defiance Game Developing team probably added a scent to the air, since there is no smelevision, we can't smell it. But it's there. When Defiance comes out in April, I hope you stop to look. Maybe not right away, shoot first, smell the roses later? I can't wait till this game is released.

That usually means you've been playing a little too long and should stand up for a while

Or it means I enjoyed the offloading so much I imagined I was actually there. Or my couch sucks. But played too long? Never heard of such a thing. My get up and and go got up and went. Thanks to Trion I don't care if it went off a cliff.

I'd hit the crest of a hill on my little ATV and just stay there a while. Squint out at the sunlight spread across the bay. The alien flora arching overhead. Then I'd hear another engine revving nearby, remember I was on a mission, and tear down that hill, roll off my ATV and come up snapping off headshots one by one.

Most immersive MMO I've played so far.

I was definitely impressed with the world, and stopped more than once to enjoy a sunset, and it's reflection on the waters. Especially from Shondu's Consulate where the view is rather nice.

What really impressed me was the night sky actually making my partner stop, and look up to admire the stars, even on a cloudy night. Then the clouds cleared! It was a wonderful sight.
