Small guide to the Salvage Matrix.

The Salvage Matrix Mod guide for Defiance .By [TBH]Clikk/Eveie.

First of all I will start this guide by giving you a few basic things I learned from the Beta.(tIPS)
(1)If you want to add mod slots to a single weapon you must unequipped it then wait ten minutes, then re-equip it.
(2)Don't mod a powerful weapon with a single MOD slot,Trust me you will regret this because you cant take the mod back just wait until later in the game to mod a weapon.
(3)Once you max out a weapons xp bar you no longer gain skill xp towards that weapon class (this is to be fixed in live.)
(4)Once you reach iron demon ranch the vendor has a full cache of mods for weapons. Only buy the mods for your guns that have the appropriate slots for those attachments.

Ok.What is the Salvage Matrix In Defiance?
Breakdown to Resources / Take a piece of gear and break it down into Ark Resources.
Attach Mods / Take a weapon and add mods.
    Remove Mods.
    Retrieve Mods.
Add Mod Slots / take a weapon without the maximum number of mod slots and add a mod slot to it. The slot that is added is random.

Several weapons have modification slots (stock, barrel, magazine and sight) which can be utilized to upgrade the weapon. New items such as scopes, barrels, and bigger or different kinds of magazines can be added.

Each Weapon in Defiance has between zero and four Modification slots.

There are four kinds of Modifications.

    (1)Barrel. Crit/Damage.
    (2)Stock. Effects Stability.
(3)Magazine. Effects Reload time or Capacity.
    (4)Sight/Scope. Effects Accuracy.

All of these base mods come with Subclasses .
Here i will describe what they do as to give you a better insight into how to plan your build.

    Barrel mods.

Some terms we see on the mods ,most people wont be familiar with ,so i will describe it here.Altho some are self explanatory eg.crit/damage and hip shot.
(1)Bloom.Represents the inaccuracy or spread of a weapon
(2)Fall Off.Over distance your bullets will lose their damage.
    (3)Dispersion.Full damage Radius.
    (4)Viral.Bug damage and overall damage.
(5)Syphon Accelerator. is a Modification which improves Damage per second and the healing rate per second of BMGs.

    Magazine mods..Self explanatory./Reload speed/time/capacity.

Scope mods same as above /Accuracy and lock on time.

Stock mods.Mostly melee damage and Bloom and Recoil.

    Examples of mods.
Barrel.Beam Intensifier is a Modification which improves damage per second.
Stock.Sniper Recoil Stock is a Modification which improves Bloom and Recoil.
Magazine.Strain Reloader is a Modification which improves Magazine size and Reload speed.
Sight/Scope.Rapid Acquisition Scope is a Modification which improves Aim Accuracy and Lock On Time.

Yeah, barrel mods are more about damage, crit multiplier, elemental trigger chance, and some miscellaneous things for other weapon types.

Also, accuracy is how big your crosshairs are (cone of fire), while bloom is how much bigger that cone gets with sustained fire.
