I'd like to know how long does it take a name to become available after a character with it has been deleted?
This is the only way I can think of for a friend to hold a few of my names for me.

Should be relativily instant. There are some games (like Perfect World) who give you a 7 day deletion period, just on the offchance you change your mind or if you forgot something on that character.

I tested with a friend in the beta this, to see if he could hold a name for me. After deleting a name, it was instantaneously able to be used by someone else. Don't know if it will be the same for the full game, but one would think so.
