so. about the tv series.I can't watch the first 14mins(from Finland)

http://syfy.ly/defiance14 <- Doesn't work for me. Would've been great to see the first 14 minutes of the show since the TV show was half of the reason why I bought the game. Now I'm wondering if there'll be a way to watch the show from Finland(for example since I'm from there)
The thing is that I can watch the other videos like Behind the scenes videos on that website.
I'm sorry if there has been a post about this but I just couldn't find it or I'm just blind/wrong words used on search.

    Yeah it's geoblocked. Try this:

    http://hola.org/faq.html#ub_whatis

It's a free peer to peer proxy unblocker for stuff like this.

There are some other threads about the 14 min deal where we've all posted various ways around it and to tell NBC to eat schtako.

heh , ye. It would honestly suck if people without syfy-network in their country couldn't watch Defiance.

I couldn't see it here, and it's broadcast locally in Canada.

I got it eventually, looked decent for the most part, though I'm a little unsure about the CGI portions, I'm hoping it was just temporary preview footage.

I really liked how the first 3-4 minutes you didn't even know if she spoke English at all, and the duet almost had a mimicry feel to it, rather than comprehension... Good job of keeping an "alien" feel to it if that was the intent.

Living in Japan where I've had to deal with years of tv show blockings, movies delayed 6 months to a year to "debut" in theatres, and so many game industry folks making all sorts of dirty delays and worse(yes Im talking to you EA Bethesda/zenimax and most recently 2k Games). At some point you just have to start being more proactive against it.

hotspot shield is a great VPN utility,

    http://www.hotspotshield.com/en

you can connect to it and it'll fool most networks into thinking you're in the USA, you might have to logout/login again once or twice to make sure you get a connection in USA, just install it, run it, then check http://whatismyipaddress.com/ to see where you are. if it's outside the usa, disconnect and reconnect till you are. totally free.

There's a few good stand alone free vpns as well as some applications you can use via firefox or chrome too.

I don't expect the best effects but I liked what I saw in the show, especially after playing the hell out of the beta and being very into it.
