I don't expect the best effects but I liked what I saw in the show, especially after playing the hell out of the beta and being very into it.

Oh, neither do I, effects don't make a show, and frankly, the less effects, the better off it is IMO, since it's generally the high effects budget that kills a sci-fi show. But the shot I remember really stood out as bad, like, pre-babylon 5 CG

I can forgive the CGI for the story. If it does well, I am sure the budget will increase. Just look at Eureka before they decided to end it.

That's exactly what I thought about and you're right. So many shows with high effect budgets have been canceled rly fast in the past couple of years even(like Terra Nova for example).

I'm from the Netherlands, and used an AWS vpn to watch the trailer Easy enough if you know what to do, but I think Media Hint would be the easiest solution.
