It's a Sony rule that Sony games don't follow? Sounds off to me, but I can't say I care too much. My friend list has been maxed out a few times, but when I consider who I game and talk with consistently most of it turns out to be filler and I clean house. Right now I have lots of open spaces.
Doesn't bother me too much. I'll be running with my clanmates most of the time and will have plenty of room for people I meet.
There is pursuit where you have to have 15 friends online at the same time... FIFTEEN! At.the.same.time.
So this should be done on day 1. Add 15 people right away, get the pursuit and delete them.
But I have hard time deleting 5 friends. Now I need to delete atleast 15?
What freaking rule? Dust isn't even out yet and they don't have that rule? Nor has DCUO...
If they haven't dramatically changed beta to full release, they could of looked up into DCUO a bit more..
I wont be getting this game on release date (still unsure when, my store hasn't got the games yet..) so atleast I have a bit more time to think about this..
50/50 will I cancel pre-order or not. I really want to get this game but 90 euros is a lot of money for something which just doesn't work though..
congrats, you can add 96 people you meet in Defiance.
For some people (me included) this IS big deal.. You realise that some people actually play multiple games on a console? And as I mostly like multiplayer games, I like to have many friends because I have few for each game to play with. Defiance is MMOish game and I'm sure I will meet MANY awesome people I want to play with BUT because there wont be Defiance-only friend list I have to choose between Defiance players I've recently met and people I've had on my friend list since 2008.
Thankfully I know few ones I can remove, but still it sucks. DCUO is awesome because in that game I have many, many many friends on my list and only like 3 are also on my PSN friend.
But I guess I'll still get the game, I just need to think twice who to add to play some co-op instances.
And stop calling us *****es for complaining about something which was done right in other game on same platform
(ps3 and it's text pad character limits...)
and the reason for PSN tied friend list is because it's Sony's rule? I have hard time believing that, that's why I'm complaining. Why does this game need to have PSN tied friendlist but DCUO and Dust 514 can have their own?
Yeah this is a pretty bogus answer!
I think Trion needs to clarify better, because as previous people have mentioned DCUO nor Dust 514 require you to add people to your PSN list to add them as a friend in the game. i am very picky about who I have on my PSN friends list because I get enough harassment from guys in the games that I don't want it outside of the games too.

My Official Defiance REVIEW
Was following "Tales of Laputa" came across your post the other day :P Good stuff!
but yes on topic, 100% agreed.
This is simply unacceptable, I really wish we could get a more "official" answer. As it seems this should not be a rule.
Seeing as I am such a cool dude, others see it as well! Women keep adding me to their list, I'm like ugh <accept I guess> Okay maybe that isn't happening, LOL!
For what it's worth I believe he said "on xbox and ps3 this is a rule" so MAYBE it's a xbox thing, and MAYBE they wanted to keep the game the exact same on both consoles, but confuses me why it's possible on the PC version of the game.
