Bad Decision to lauch on the eve of a worldwide holiday? Thoughts on this please,

I have been reading alot about people not happy about possibly awaiting an extra day or so to receive the game and possibly as late as the 12th.

In my personal opinion i do think it was a bad call to launch it right after a bank holiday they should of left it till the 5th to insure everyone gets a fair start at the game

However if i was in that same boat i would be a bit gutted but there's always going to be people ahead of you in the game (unless your ranked 1st) and the advantage of a day or 2 head start wont be major as most are getting a 3day xp boost plus bits to spend on further buffs.

I find it harder to have the game in my disk drive right now and not being able to play it. I think ive read the achievements about 5 times already & the maunal is basically a button guide for your control pad lol

Actually Easter is far from a world wide holiday, far from... it shouldn't even be a Christian holiday but that is another matter entirely.

That out of the way, the April 12th issue is not one of a holiday or postal delay. Read the forums and you will see that Ultimate and Collector's Editions have been delayed by specific vendors do to supply issues by the distributors. Mostly Amazon.co.uk orders and other European retailers, not saying that makes it okay just saying get your facts straight.

As for delivery of games to other retailers as most companies are already closed on Sunday and Easter is neither a Federal or State holiday in the US shipping should work the same as it always does on a Sunday, meaning deliver of goods to retailers on Monday or Tuesday should occur as normal.

This is really a useless post of about a mole hill you want to be seen as a mountain.

What 'wordlwide' holiday is on April 3rd?

To be honest the date did have me wondering a bit about their decision to release it right after a public holiday in many western countries. But given how troublesome MMO launches can be on launch day, it could have been a very calculated decision to stagger the crowd. I know there might be other MMOs that have had co-current cross platform MMOs launched on the same day, but Defiance is the first I know of which is across the three major platforms.

It partially surprised me that the show premier and the game launch are so far apart, almost two weeks. But perhaps it was to build up more hype for the show?

I can go on all day with conspiracy theories!

Personally, I do see a benefit to the forcibly staggered play start. Granted, I would be sore if it happened to me, but with it spread out by receiving dates it will help to reduce clog on missions.

Not to mention the spread of delayed players would allow for patching and whatnot to progress a lot quicker than usual too.

Hopefully anyway.

I think by what he ment is that there are 1.2billion catholics all over the world. Meaning that its a worldwide holyday for catholics and so.

i say world wide holiday what i mean is people all over the world who celebrate easter(which is most prob a majority) will be effected by it as most complaining seem to have that in common :P

if so why is this forum still lively it was lively at 12:01am if people were christian in here they would be at midnight mass at church not sat on the forums discussing this crap ? rofl
