I still buy disks because I trade them in once I'm done. Granted, this isn't an option for PC users at all, but if I can get $15-$20 for a game I will never play again, I'm happy.

No sane retailer will want Defiance back though, since it has an activation code to get your account running.

Not a problem anymore. Sports games have been doing this for years. You buy a new access code directly from the PSN/XBox Marketplace. Normally costs $10-$15. Basically the cost of a new code offsets the discounted sale price. This way the developer makes money on used games, where only the store selling the used game would profit otherwise. Seems the gaming community has a lot to learn from how sports games do business.

Because people rather play the actual sport?(Badum-tish)

Honestly though, wouldn't this result in the end-user paying more? The retail fee, and the additional fee to get a new account?

Haha, honestly, it's athletes themselves who probably play sports games the most. I know that's the case for myself and my friends/teammates.

How it works though is actually still cheaper for the customer. A new game with access code costs $60. A used game normally goes for $35-$40, at least for sports games. So you add that $15 access code, and it's $55 at most, so a $5 savings. Not huge, but it's still $5. EA Sports actually throws customers a bone as well. You can play their games online for I believe 2 days before you have to enter the access code. So if you use Gamefly or rent at Red Box or Blockbuster (if they still exist), you're not forced to buy the access code right away.

Do Easter Egg hunts with the kids count as celebrating? Because then I am a devout follower (yeah, I know where I'm going once I die, lol)
