Was there much publicity for this game?

I think this game is great loved the beta and I'm eagerly waiting for the servers to go live, however, i don't see the game in many stores or some big on-line retailers

Example:
i rarely pre order on-line i usually go to the store at midnight well whilst looking this game up on a site i know most people in the uk use Play.com it was not even listed as a game

second example i went to Tescos (like walmart) and it wasn't there or on the top games to pre order chart i mean even GTA 5 was on it and that's coming out in September

so im wondering how much backing or money went into getting the games name out there cause a big MMO coming out on 3 different formats you would think more people would be pushing it to the public.

Whats it like in America or rest of Europe?
is anyone else seeing the same sort of scenarios?

Seen commercials for it on SYFY, FX, Tnt, fox and the wb. Plus it's been advertised every time I bring up the on demand menu on my comcast cable. Talks about the show and then brings up the game.

yep if it wasnt for syfy channel and youtube ,i would have heard nothing about this game

Save for a lack of TV advertising in Europe (Correct me if wrong?) I'd say the game has had a very large publicity campaign going for it, even more so that it's got an ACTUAL TV show coming out for it alone.

Well you see i heard from word of mouth, i saw a few console adverts but i never pay attention to them unless they say "free". If i wasnt offered a BETA key from a friend i would of never really been obsessed or pre ordered it like i have.

i follow alot of gaming pages on facebook also and i aint seen much in lines of talk about the game or updates on it ect seems from your post america got a bigger boost in advertising.

Down here in Australia, all the game stores I'v been to have had it, even had massive banners up about it, but I haven't actually seen any advertisement of it on SciFi.

Im on the East US and If it's not a spot for the TY show then I see one for the game or a big one that shows both. There showing it off over this way Im real happy to see that, the more ppl know about it the better.

I don't watch much TV but I'm seeing ads for Defiance all over the place online.

interesting was just curios i dont live in the big city of london anymore and i do see it in Game over here but just surprised that i dont see it as much as i thought i would of
