I havent been a vendor for that long but I have been playing since day one. Seen people ask for ridiculously high prices and have had many of the vendors on this thread sell me mods I needed for below-market prices.

I price my stuff low cause I want my inventory slots freed.

Also not all mods are gained through lockboxes so doing a straight conversion of scrip to mods doesnt really hold true. Ive gained all my mods through hotshots, etc.

So brutal mods cost as much as cannoneer . Seems off but hey I'm fine with a universal system and jacking up prices

I really don't see how a universal pricing system can work. I mean if there were enough of all mods to go around then yes it would work, but the reason prices go up so high is due to more ppl needing the mod than there are mods available. For the most part I have gotten very fair deal on mods other than AR mods. A lot of the time when I buy mods I try to avoid dealers all together because their prices are actually higher because they know if you don't buy it someone else will.

I think this has more to do with all the people that are looking for mods who bytch about prices, try to low ball and publicly calling people out for selling mods.
There is a difference between negotiating for a lower price and being and being an *** about it.

If someone doesn't like the price then go somewhere else or open mod cache boxes until they find what they're looking for.

-Defiance- is why i won't buy another Trion title at full price if at all.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on this. Theoretically it would be awesome to have set prices on mods. Reality though, there is no way to control what people charge for mods. Also, it is not easy to run a well stocked mod shop. So if you do go to a dealer for said mod, please bear in mind how much time and $ they have invested in tracking down mods, then meeting up with dozens or possibly more people every day to conduct trades or sales. That being said, you should expect to be paying a little more from a dealer. I know I expect to, that's one of the reasons why I try to find mods through my network of friends first and use dealers as a last resort. I don't consider myself a dealer, but I do always have 100 or more mods in my inv at any given time. When someone I know needs a mod that I have, I help them out and sell at a very reasonable price, sometimes even given away. And when I'm trying to hunt down mods, my friends always return the favor. There are plenty of people out there selling at reasonable prices, so if someone has a mod you need and you don't agree with the pricing, don't buy it. At the end of the day this is just a game (a very addictive game lol).

I'm a mod seller, who sells mods I come across or get extremely cheap from friends. I am *****ing about the price. I am not a buyer, as I have everything I need right now.

When it comes to a universal system certain factors have to be thought out. For instance, an assassin BMG mod shouldn't cost as much as a Stalker BMG mod, simply because the Stalker synergy is more usefull and better for the gun. Same for Pistols, and shotguns, sure assassin shotguns are great considering you do hit multiple crits....sometimes....but a brutal, run n gun, cannoneer, quartermaster, and stalker are better synergies and should cost a bit more I THINK.

Thats not how I am selling them right now, because this isn't an accepted theory among the Defiance community. However, I believe this kind of system WILL work if we have a good amount of people who believe in the same type of economy. The auctions should still be put into play, I believe that is very fair for rare mods. But mods that are not that rare, and no, not every AR mod is rare, should be kept around a base price, depending on synergy and which type of mod. If anyone is interest in having a meeting, or an alliance, to sit down and right a spreadsheet or something like I saw Mtn post earlier, that sounds like a fantastic idea as well. Hell, even a facebook page thats free to set up would work wonders for private mod auctions. Then, you could check auctions via cell phone as well! There are many ideas and it seems like everyone has something positive to input whether or not you agree entirely on a full blown universal pricing system. I say we either get a few of us together and discuss this in game where temper more than likely will not be flared, or we can all wait til after the DLC.

Me being the one who initially started this topic, I would love for those who would like a meet, if there is enough of us, to send me a private message and we can all meet up in-game.

    Thanks guys

If love to get in on that man.
And if we could get a half dozen voices and just mash through this stuff I'm sure we could set a market for mods from low to high end. We could do it in game via pm's on the forums or just start a face book group and hash it out. I'm certain we could come to terms. Take a few of the clan leaders that really know the market on stuff and I'm sure most of us will agree on stuff.
How ever as others have stated this will all change in hopefully a months time anyway.

This times ten. I always network first then go off to track down mods. If someone says throw an offer up, I never low ball the offer, I offer what I think is fair for the mod. If they want something higher and it isn't ridiculous, then chances are I end up paying what they ask for. Luckily I have a lot of friends I go through and end up finding most of the mods I need before I have to do this.

As far as the upcoming change, I think it is going to change the economy but there still is an amount of uncertainty because trion hasn't revealed the exact details. We do know that synergy mods will be rewarded, but how many of us have finished all the side missions. I know I have. So that option is out for me. How about rewards from rampages or hotshots? How many of us hated doing those things and once we got silver or gold we do not ever want to even go at them again?

One thing they have said is that they are putting mod boxes in the store. This goes back to buying mods (random ones at that) for real money. Is it reasonable for someone to sell an assassin or stalker ionic barrel for 20k when they got it from purchasing a box with real money? I don't know how many inventory spaces I have bought just because of needing room to add more mods to my store. Now spending more real money???

One thing that I am all for is some kind of swap meet. Like a weekly meetup of traders where they can go and talk and hopefully find a mod they need from someone and do an even trade for a mod or a couple of lower end mods that the other person needs. Heck, it doesn't even have to be something we have to do in game. Something like that can easily be done on the forums or even amongst people in your own clan

Let's keep this clean people, and remember, if you pay more than these prices, you probably didnt check with me....
    Green non syn- 2500
    Green syn- 5000
Blue non syn non ar- 20k
    Blue syn non ar- 50k
    Blue non syn ar- 30k
    Blue syn ar- 75k
Sets should be at a rate of 75% of the original price.
Just my opinion, but those prices are awfully high. Not saying you should lower them since it's your right to sell your mods. If people are willing to spend that much, good for you. However, not everyone has a ton of scrip to blow. The green mod prices are fair, but that's it. Non syn mods of any variety, including ar, should never break 20k. I see enough of them in lock boxes that I pass on them since I have limited inventory space. I'd rather sell syn mods anyways. I'd rather not see the PS3 economy get inflated like the xbox one. We have less players and so, have less overall scrip floating around.
