Just an idea, Maybe if you use the code and activate your account with your trion account, Then someone else plays the same CD and needs to activate there account with a trion account they get the same activation code and it tells them it has been used, If you understand what i mean ?
Point I made at the start of our thread convo. Where the pre order code is actually an activation code just worded badly. Again not tried it till I know the servers are up.

The code on the back of the manual is to link your Arkfall code rewards. It is NOT required to link your account to play. Linking your account is only needed if you wish to get your Arkfall rewards
I have been reading this thread for a different reason. My son and I each have our own Xbox Live Gold accounts. I was wondering if we would have problems playing this on different Xbox's on different gold accounts, or I would have to buy him his own copy for us to play. I realize it might be his own copy to play at the same time... but if we aren't playing at the same time will he be able to have his own account but use the same game as me? I am hoping so.
See there is weird crap going on here on lovefilm.com it is available to rent as of the 2nd yet xbox does require a key because you get it at the back of your manual and yes i know because i have my game v.v
