Pre-Order Car = Fastest Car in Defiance?

I really wouldn't worry about it until you see what you get in game. Marketing people say the stupidest things. "Fastest car in game" means about as much as "all-natural" and "organic".

Why? Well, there's only one car in game... the Dodge Challenger. This one is red. There are ones that are different colors. If all Dodge Challengers are the same speed, then technically the red one is still the fastest (and only) car in the game.

But it goes further than that. There's a base speed. There's a boost speed. There's a boost tank that can be different sizes, get used at a faster rate, refill at a faster rate. It's entirely possible that the red Challenger has a 2% higher top-speed when boosting, but is slower when not boosting or has less boost or recovers from boost slower.

This is a long way of illustrating... don't worry about it until you see what's in the game.

I won't even go into other vehicles. The Challengers aren't very fun to drive in San Francisco, because all the roads are messed up. So even if the Challenger is the "best car" in the game, you're still going to want a Duni dune-buggy for off-roading or a Hannibal runner or a Nomad pickup.

The Challenger was why I went ahead and Pre Ordered the game for 2 Platforms. But Gamestop was saying something about running out of Codes so now I'm a little worried because I really want the car. They say All Pre Orders get it and I pre Ordered.

The pre order dodge will be the fast car at launch,
I think this is more to thank people for pre ordering as that is the only time that you will be able to get it.
As people have said it may be the fastest but it may not be the best, the different vehicle have different stats, from health, boost and other attributes

As for damaging people in cars,
When you vehicle takes damage it reduces the hit points of that vehicle and then it explodes, ejecting you from the car and removing your shields.

In certain vehicle you can damage an actual person, for example the Cerberus, with it not being a enclosed car you can see the characters in it. So you can target the gunner, driver and passenger with say a sniper rifle. In the beta i managed to snipe the driver, and the gunner out of these.

That is the only vehiclei believe you can do it to tho

I mean, I pre-ordered too and I'm getting one, but it is a little stupid that the first car I'm going to own is going to be the best car I can ever get in the entire game?

It would make sense if it was like good for the first day of play or something, then you can find/buy a better one. But, best car I'm ever gonna have?

So I can look forward to absolutely no car upgrades and seeing 50% of people using the same car as me...?

If some one give you money to promote your game and for you to work on your game. Wouldn't you give something back to them in return?..... We are talking about Real Money. >.> I bet dodge put in 6 figure $. Just my guess.

Real talk. If Dodge hands you $500,000 real money for you to make your game. Wouldn't you take it?. Yea, the only string attached is you make a game with a car by Dodge, and I want it to be the fastest 2 man car in your game. For 500k. Wouldn't you do it?.... Money.

There are other transport vehicle in the game, and a truck with a gun on the back of it. I really want those.

Fastest doesn't necessarily mean best, I've seen vehicles in games so fast that they are difficult to control. Its not always about speed; durability and control are equally important in my opinion.

it's prolly the fastest car for now... later when they add more vehicles they will obviously add faster ones.... they give u the fastest car for now as a little bonus and a thank you for pre-ordering their game... call it incentive
