Thinking about buying the game, but wondering about a couple things

Do you still stop gaining exp for a weapon type when an individual weapon maxes out? That was one of the main things that made me decide not buy the game at release.

That and the ludicrous HP boost to enemies when other players wander into the area you're in regardless of whether they actually attack the enemies or not, is that still around or did it finally get toned down?

yes to your weap question. as to the HP I never noticed, but I havent played in months and even got a refund for my season pass, so think on that.

    1: Yes.

2: Yeah, it was toned down a little but not too much so that team work is still encouraged.

3: If you are going to get it, could I encourage you to sign up for ark fall rewards and use my referral link?

You will need to sign up for arkfall rewards at http://www.defiance.com then use the following link for us to both get nice bonuses.

My tip would be to get it on PC where it's $9.99

That's unfortunate. I was really hoping they'd have done away with individual weapons leveling and just had it tied in to weapon type like it was for alpha and most of beta. I doubt I'll be buying the game in that case even for $10, I was not a fan of having to use random junk weapons to be able to level my weapon skill instead of a modded weapon that performed much better but gave no exp because it was maxed out.

Thanks for the quick replies at least.

you can reset the weapon experience without losing it's mastery bonus in the salvage matrix though... and keep using it to level your weapon skill.

I guess that's something at least, how much does it cost to reset it?

    1000 on a white, 2000 on a green, 5000 on a blue, 10000 on a purple, 25000 on an orange.

Ark salvage, that is, not scrip.

Yes but if you are mainly using your fave guns and scrapping all else then ark salvage comes quick. Btw it takes 20 min for your weapon to reset during wich time you can't use it, but guns drop quick enough there are plenty to use during that time and scrap all that you don't want to keep as a temp(when weapon resetting main) gun.

Like I said guns drop enough that there is apsolutely no problem with leveling and scraping guns you do not want to mastery reset.

EDITED to fix a typo. Thanks Market.

You stop gaining exp on weapon that is maxed, but can spend 1000-25,000 ark salvage depending on rarity to reset the weapon xp and then continue to use it. Once you reach weapon skill max level, then it doesn't matter as there is no more weapon skill bonuses to unlock.

I don't think the game is doing too much dynamic scaling of enemy hit-points or damage. Maybe in some areas, mabye they did in the past... but I don't think they are doing that anymore. Not in a way that I notice it. In fact it is one of my complaints since I generally roll with a clan group of 4 and sometimes multiple clan groups that they enemies should be made tougher when more of us are around. The enemies die too fast when many people are shooting them.

Anyway, it is a decent game if you like to play socially with others and are good at making online friends and playing well together.

They still do a bit of scaling. It's more noticeable for small groups. When I arrive first at an arkfall I notice it scaling when more people start to come. but I think it's not scaling well for large groups/major arkfalls, it's too easy.
