    Game Potential

Anyone else feel like Defiance has extreme potential but lacks attention to community feedback from development?

I've been enjoying the game since I purchased it during the Steam summer sale and have had quite a bit of fun simply killing things. That said, there are plenty of things that need to be fixed, improved or simply added to the game to make it a richer, fuller experience.

I don't need to repeat those suggestions, but it would be nice to feel heard and not simply left in the dark. I would suggest an official thread that details some of the best suggestions and keeps them in an organized form so development can easily see what the community would like implemented.

I'd like to see devs commenting more on the suggestions section of the forums. I think I never saw any dev commenting over there.

CM posted on the stratocarrier thread, but no, as far as I've seen a Dev has never posted, aknowledged, or even credited the suggestions forum for anything

It's mostly there for show I think. Of course, if a CM or Dev were to pop in here now and say otherwise, that would be one thing, but they won't. Which says a lot about the direction of the people controlling the game's development.

I agree with you and would love to game with neww awesome cool down to earth people. I some time feel like that they should pay someone to come and fix all the shtako gliches in the game. I pre order this game. They had Fraight yard out of the game for a long time because people was exporting the game as they said they fixed Fraight yard but when they did if Gliched out the pvp out fits and you cannt where your pvp gear. There problem may be that the need to Fix the phases in the whole game of defiance order to fix most of the problem gliches. a game like this I EXPECT to have a few Gliches buit not all these. OH and people do ether one of 2 things one duplicate sricp I dislike cheats and I have seen 1,000,000,000, or the game progamers are playing the game and controling the scrip and LEGENDARYS in the game or this guy gamer tag KingPiper Piccolo was duplicating sricp. I asked if I would like some scrip I said you want to buy my a some of my gunsI had a siphan saw 417 ego he said no he was hafe my ego. Well he said I did not want to trade for my guns he wanted to trade for real life money or real life stuff. I seen this about 40 days after April 2,2013 when I was about ego level 4,000. I Told him that was not right and I lefted the xbox party and went fair away from him. IF you don't believe me than ask [easykllzleader] how mush scrip he has seen he will tell you the same thing. If you want to hang out and your not a cheat hit me up im on xbox and your over 18 look up [SpartanXXX] in game. You have a awesome time in defiance. Im out thanks for reading.

No expert at this, obviously since I'm not at Trion, but I can comment based on my life experiences as to why the lack of Dev communication... I'm a Software Developer, not games, but I believe that the process and what one can and can't do holds pretty true for just about any type of programming/developing.

The Devs aren't typically the ones in control of what makes it into the game, gets fixed, is cut, etc. This comes from meetings (sometimes with the Devs or selected (Senior) Devs) where higher ups (Project Manager, etc.) make the actual lists of what can be accomplished in a given time (sometimes referred to as SPRINTS). Really, the Devs have no say. They are just told to do and must comply unless they want to get fired. Of course, they do have a bit of pull and push here and there, but mostly to say how difficult something may be or if there will be potential issues/conflicts.

Sure, Devs can still comment on stuff, but they probably refrain from doing so as they don't set things in stone, might get backlash for something they say, give something away, piss someone off, get something wrong, or are just too busy to stop and read the forums... which is why they have others for that.

Again, I could be totally wrong, but that's my guess.

Even if they just said they liked ideas, or something would be dificult to implement, it would make the suggestions forum seem less pointless. They don't even have to promise anything, just acknowledge it.

The only thing like a cm commenting was in the first few weeks they compiled a list of requested things the fans had asked for. That list has since been forgotten about and ignored. Trion doesnt care what you want they continue to do what they want and follow their vision of the game cause we all know how well that served them so far. The game is sold for $9.99 on PC and $19.99 for ps3 and Xbox. Maybe its time they pulped their heads out of their ***** and actually listened to the fans for once. They might not find themselves in the bargin bin of WalMart.

oh well. Trion doesnt care what you want into of the game. They will give you want they think is making the game better..... Yeah lets see how this turns out for them ignore your fan base. Ignore what they want and give them what ya think will work.

Hey you guys asked for this giant list of improvements here's charge blades, charged weapons a new truck and the ability to duel your friend. Lets hope the second DLC comes with some stuff the fan base actually requested.
    When will you learn.

I enjoy the game and believe if it waited till next gen systems then it would progress into greatness. Sadly we must face facts.

    - while ps3 servers are still going to be running for quite awhile after ps4 drops eventually the platform will die off.

    - the game is based off a show on syfy that is famous for pulling the plug on shows out of nowhere. Defiance is up with a season 2 but will it make a 3rd? Who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if syfy pulled the usual.

Unfortunately, acknowledging something can potentially get you in trouble or in hot water. Like the "Truck of Doom..." If a Dev said they liked something, someone could potentially turn that around and say, "Well Dev X said this!" and take something out of context. I think it just might be too much liability for them to comment on anything... BUT, why don't we straight up ask?

Any Dev out there... why don't you comment more, on anything?

We'll see if that does anything.

You copied off alot of games and movies! Like borderlands 2, your pvp is like Call Of Duty but sy-fy, fall out. In borderlands 1 & 2 there is alot bad language, you all copied borderlands 1&2 and had some one make up alien languages so that you were not copying borderlands 1&2 100%. You have Vault hunters in borderlands 1&2 in Defiance you have Ark hunter. Borderlands 1&2 you have claptrap that guides you in the beginning of the game In Defiance you have Ego. You copied some of the ability's from borderlands 1&2, some if not most of the story line of borderlands 1&2. The Tara form that is in defiance looks like the planet in borderlands 1&2. Oh even your preorder you copied borderlands 2 in borderlands 2 you get whit guns to start with and you all did the same. You need people that are creative and can up with New ideas and story's for your game, some one that has played alot of different games so you can make shore your not copying any other game designers ideas even just a little bit. Also there is alot of your game mechanics that needs to be fix, every on in the game wants to play as DPS player and there are so many builds like healer builds and tank builds as well.
I know that legally you have to change 5% in order to make it yours but that's still wrong. The only why you all make money with this game is that you have legendary that are in the game and you control them this is my opinion if you block me from playing your DLC when it comes out I will take you to court. Your game release was messed up and crap, you giving people a week of boost in the game. That does not make up for the release mess up. There are some things you fixed in the game but not much, it took for ever for you all to fix. Like lest perk falling off, more. Please fix your game or please give our my money back. There customer service sucks they need to be reported to the better business B..
