I know this much - ammo refills fills all weapons on all loadouts equipped or not ergo since non equipped weapons are then placed in inventory one could say that yes, ammo refills refill in the inventory as well

Yeah when using an ammo station it refills all weapons. Interestingly you can also "over-fill" your in hand weapon by reloading it fully and using the box again, giving you an extra clip worth on top of the "full" amount for that weapon. You'll lose those extra bullets if you switch weapon though, but useful for Arkfall end bosses and similar where you're not switching weapons.

you also lose the over full if you get in a vehicle. didn't test cut scenes with it.

The last boss is *much* easier if you use a BMG, it nullifies his dodging around and you can heal yourself.
