there is no region locks for pc editions of the game.
you can buy a code from any retailer and you will be able to play in any of the two regions.
This kind of makes me wonder who is losing the profit from this very early sale? it can't be Trion can it? that wouldn't be cool..
brick and mortar retailers take $20+ on copies they sell. they also ask for extra money to showcase new games or even give games shelf space at all(for example gamestop has a very limited pc game shelf space, so to get your game to sit there at all you have to pay extra). stuff like cardboard cut out displays or featured coming soon/preorder shelves. otherwise for pc games they tend to just order what gets preordered from them(sometimes less to account for people not picking up their orders).
steam has such high market share that they can't undercut retailers on launch sales on their own. so instead they offer extra perks for buying with them. when a steam sale comes around it's negotiated by publishers/devs.
other digital retailers like GMG are not insteam's position so they can undercut the major chains and still bring in a healthy profit.
other retailers like g2play amd fast2play buy from regions with lower pricing to cut down on piracy, and then resell. they are very upfront about the details of the code including any region locks and language restrictions, since they get by on their word of mouth reputation.
But only with steam you can pass the amount of inventory slots in the game... instead of max of 40 you can 50... from what I've heard.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure if there's a max limit to the amount of inventory slots you can have, everyone will be able to reach it - even if they end up buying every single slot from the cash shop to reach it. There's no way they would cap people at different levels so long as room and opportunity exists to sell more inventory space for dollars.
$75 for digital deluxe is still very underwhelming, If it was 30 days for the boosts then I'd be all for it.
