Even with 25% cupon on GMG, http://gamazavr.ru/search/?query=defiance is still cheaper. Its around 61$ for digital deluxe+season pass.

also add in the fact Season pass is $30 and not $40 for prepurchasers, and that's another $10 saved. So...$15 saved with GMG if you go that route and season pass there if they have it, or Steam after the fact.

Regardless of what each site says, the digital deluxe edition is a 30 day boost. It's 7 days for the physical collectors edition because they get more physical bonuses (statue, etc). All the retailers have been fouling up their listings in one way or another; go by the info listed here: http://www.defiance.com/en/pre-order/pc/

Has anyone done the math to see how much you could buy in the in-game store with the money you'd save with the 25% off? I mean compared to the steam bonuses, could you spend the money saved on more stuff than what steam is offering?

I can't find the in-game store (or rather, the web-store front) anywhere, so I don't know how much stuff costs.

If you buy the Season Pass on Steam for $30, you're saving $10, so now the difference is $15.

I just went with steam. It's not as if I really care about saving a bit of money, and to me the steam rewards make up for it anyway.

Here's a Youtube video from the latest beta that shows what was offered in the store, as well as prices. They are subject to change of course, but it'll give you a good idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy-LvmRNA_A

Buying Bits direct from the store were:
    400 Bits cost $5
    1,800 Bits cost $20
    5,200 Bits cost $50
    11,200 Bits cost $100

I bought the standard version from GMG for $45 and a $15 Gamestop Bit card (includes 1200 Bits and a Lockbox of unknown tier. Originally people said it was 100 Bits per $1, but that turned out incorrect.) I had planned on spending $60 anyhow and that option gave more freedom than Steam since I don't care for the vehicles, expansion or sniper rifle.

I just bought the standard game from Green Man Gaming for $48. Not bad, I always like to save a few dollars. When I bought it, it told me I would need to install Capsule to play this game. Anyone know what that is? I didnt install it and just downloaded the game from Trion's site.

went with steam. the bonus is the DLC is $30 instead of $40. so i spent a total of $90 on this game.

i like the way the truck looks, wanted to sniper rifle and wanted the game connected through steam + the little gadgets.

if you can get 25% off standard, you save $15. not sure if you can then buy the steam discounted season pass or if that is limited to people who preordered through steam. but assuming you pay the normal $40, you have spent $85

$85 vs the steam $90, but with no little bonuses (standard edition + DLC).

however, if you are going with DD edition, on steam you are spending $130 and getting those little bonus items.
on GMG you are spending $115 with no extra bonus items. in this case it may be worth it as $15 worth of bits COULD get you more, better things of your choice.
Live as you want, life is only a moment in time, don't waste it.

unless you really care about a couple vehicle skins and some weapons that will be quickly replaced.
really? i guess that 50 dollor rift package is just for show then cause im pretty sure selling that to offset the cost on steam is about 70% off
