Instead of replying to everything you said I'll just say I think we just have a fundamental difference of opinions. If you like and are fine with how things currently are that is OK you are entitled to your opinion and we can just agree to disagree. I know there plenty of people around the forums and in game that share both our views.

I know I've read before the mods/devs/CMs do see all the forums and posts. What I would like to see is a response somewhere that they have heard all the complaints and that they are either going to do something about or leave it be as is. It doesn't have to be here.

If we are never going to get an auction house or better looting system then I will have to learn to live with it. Right now I have a glimmer of hope for change.

All the talk about the RNG stuffs never mentions that the RNG has severe constraints on it, and ignoring that fosters the idea that anything is obtainable when in fact only limited items from a much smaller pool are likely.

    Not arguing, just sayin'.
    These are just my opinions.
    I have lots of opinions.
Some of them, on occasion, people have agreed with.
I do not trust those people.

I use keycodes in order to not lose them because I've gotten so many at times that I didn't notice and then did lose them. I view all lockboxes and weapons like this: a fun but totally optional adjunct to the game. It's like getting baseball or any collectible cards. If I get some orange weapons I'm pleasantly surprised but I don't expect them. And because I get them from what I do in the game they are more fun.

I got one orange out of the first box I bought at 106 and didn't get the next one until 2600. I have used an untold amount of salvage in the past to buy keycodes because I did get caught up in the "must have an orange" craze. I only do that now if I'm at 7 or 23 keycodes and just want to use them up now.

I have 2 shields that I got from tier 2 boxes. I have an Infector (the 106), a Mass Cannon, and a Flare Gun that I got from boxes. The Flare gun from a tier 3. The others I have are a Bolter, a Disrupter, a Courier, and an SMG that I got from clan contests (arkfalls). That's from getting hundreds of lockboxes while going to around level 4600. I know one guy that at 3600 still hadn't gotten one orange.

And yet, I'm still very likely to use some of the purples and blues that I have over the oranges. Even if I do use one of my oranges, I end up using a purple or a blue once they max out.

Well it's perfectly all right for people to wish that they could have a better way to get rares-heck, I'd like it if we could use all the extra stuff we have to craft weapons instead of just trying the lotto method. A crafting system would I think also give people who want more to do something to do. As I see it, it would be nice to take some white and be able to use scrip or salvage or other weapons in order to make a green, then take a green to make a blue, a blue for a purple, and a purple for an orange. Then, to have some random bonus rolls you could also craft into the weapon with increased costs if you're taking a no bonus weapon and wanting to add on a bonus. The bonuses would be random, the synergies when added would also cost more and be random, and so on.

As I see it then it would also be nice to take mods and do the same with random chances at synergies.

I also wish that instead of perks that add little defensive capabilities or along with those things, there was a way to augment shields and outfits with some defensive add ons.

But, here's the thing. I do think for the most part Trion has tried to make this game so that there is no rare item that is needed to finish the game or to succeed at anything AND that for the most part just in playing the game you can get just about anything including most versions of outfits (just different colors) and vehicles, except for the Nomad so far. That way, they've made it so you really don't need to spend any real money and don't feel totally left out because you can get some version of the things they sell.
