If people learned how to use the dodge mechanic, they wouldn't need to jump around like a buffoon on crack.

You can find an (at least my) answer to your question on post #183.
OR..
You can think about all the trailers you see developers put out to hype their game, realize what favored PvP'er move is always conspicuously absent from said trailers, and ask yourself why.
I simply can't imagine why any sane marketing department would not want to release a video for their PvP gameplay showing a scene of dozens of players firing at one another while bunny hopping around.* I mean, that would make me buy the game in a hot second.*
* I am making my totally serious face while I type these lines.
a 20 page thread complaining about players JUMPING? I'm not sure which I find more entertaining; this thread or the 100 threads complaining about Cloak+SG.
This thread is so *bleep bleep blooooooooooop* I have no idea what to write.
Yes I bunny hop and I have done it since netquake was released. Some of us like fast moving shooters, not realistic military shooters (Which defiance is not)
Bunny hopping (or jump shooting since "Bunny Hopping" apparently increases movement speed ala Counter Strike) is only a benefit against people that suffer poor connections or FPS.
What happens is the player with a poor connection or FPS can not follow or track the enemy player well.
Against anyone with a decent connection and FPS bunny hopping doesn't help.
a guy jumping is a guy that missed a chance to dodge.
I love jumpers. prolly 80% of my kills are jumpers LOL
the day they learn that dodging is actually a far better way to avoid my shotgun to the face will be a sad day for me =(
I think they need to add jumping to vehicles. So I can bunnyhop my Challenger at Arkfalls and annoy people in two ways simultaneously. :P
But seriously they shouldn't remove a feature for the entire game because a few people in a limited segment in the game (pvp) can't deal.
Wow this thread is still going, meanwhile I'm still jumping and pulling MVP %75+ of the time. The times I don't is because fellow clan members are getting it and they jump also.
So ya'll keep rolling around while I jump and put 2 shotgun shells in the top of your dome.
In a third person shooter, jumping allows you to get a temporary look over the terrain to spot enemies.
That's how I use it.
