by free to play do you mean a free download? cause when i first read it i thought it reffered to a monthly subscription fee and i was thinking i dont pay one now. Xbox wouldn't care if its free they wouldn't lose money on sales but then they would probably make moneyt of dlc content. so i couldn't really see xbox or sony caring.

it makes no difference to me as i allready paid for it so it wouldnt effect me unless they got lazy on the production side.

I wonder if when it goes f2p, will it be as successful as DC Universe was?

F2P has saved a lot of games from dying. Most successful has to probably be Aion. They were on the verge of closing as well. Now that they are F2P, they have race restrictions on some servers due to player overflow and Aion is pure RPG. At least defiance has a slightly upper hand by appealing to the TPS, FPS, Shooter & RPG crowds, although it is lacking content. But with constant income it's easier to get the ball rolling. This was Aion's state also at once, it does seem Defiance needs to follow that.
I cannot believe I didn't notice I misspelled Vicious LOL. Looks like it should be pronounced "Ficus Blood" now. Imma tree killa yo!

    have purchased credits
    I love the game

Do I wish things had gone better? yes
Do I like the way things seem to be headed? no
Do I love the F2P model? no

Bottom line is I love the game and I want it to survive, so just do it, just make the jump to F2P, give me some kind of consideration for having been here and for what I've paid in the form of bonus credits or whatever.

This is no longer about standing on principal or believing in unicorns (apparently the only real one is stuffed and in my arms when I sleep at night). I'm not mad, there's no point in anger - oh sure anger makes sense but it's unproductive.

So just do it, save the game, make it thrive, just reward those of us who were here and waited patiently or impatiently or whatever.

Flame away if you must but I'm just speaking from the heart. My confidence is crumbling and I just want the game to stick around, if that's worthy of flames, have at it.

Exactly. The only reason why they continue making money is because they blatantly sell power to the user and still have the gall to deny it. They're money sink holes that the Asians perfected over a decade ago and now the Western market is adopting. No wonder that all those ****ty Korean and Chinese MMO's make money. Not only do these games breed toxic communities, they tend to attract cheaters too.

You have to pay money for it; so, no it is not.

F2P means you can download and play the whole game for free. Most F2P have cash shops, there already is one here so that isn't much different.

ITT: People still cannot grasp the concept or difference between F2P and B2P.

You really don't want them to go F2P. At this stage, it would mean they really screwed up, not to mention the fluff would get even worse and they would eventually put in some sort of pay to win.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?
