And this thread is not like those other "I hate this game, the devs, and want everyone to hate them too" threads. The only issue I have is with it being titled to say please make the game F2P when even the OP states that's not really the desire.
The OP doesn't really think F2P is the way to go. I definitely don't think F2P is the panacea others think it is because it often makes for a game that is just something that's played and that people move on from. I would like some more things added to the store that are along the line of really wanted things but not necessary things. That's the better micro-transaction model. I don't want to have needed things be for pay in the store. I would rather buy my content and have other great optional things for pay.
I look at it like this-people say they want a house or some place to store items. Well that maybe could happen and everyone who buys DLC could get a basic box and campsite at e-rep/Tranquility Road that is for their stuff. And then maybe if you want more, you pay for that. It's not needed but would be nice to have, and building more might keep people occupied for longer and keep them playing the game. But part of upgrading say a house or some camping area might be achieved by finding things in the world.
If you don't buy the DLC, you can pay for a basic box and campsite. Again, it's not a completely necessary thing but would make things a lot easier and you'd have options.
