Our company is big but a lot smaller than you think. For example, I talk on the phone with the EP almost every day - and certainly via Skype/IM/email several times a day. Same goes with Trick (designer) and recently, a development director as well is on my short list.

At Trion, devs read the forums far more than most companies - they are all very, very invested. I've alluded to it before, but starting Monday we're going back to the drawing board and completely re-evaluating the priority list of stuff you guys want to make sure we still have it all in the right order, then we're going to give it to the team.

I just want you guys to know that we're not a bunch of suits sitting behind giant desks and that there isn't a huge group of people gumming up the works. That being said, there ARE groups we have to go through, and first parties and all that jazz, so things can't happen at lightning speed. But if you want to know if the top guys on Defiance want to know what the hardcore specifically are saying (and the larger group of fans as well) I was specifically asked to redo our list last week from the head dudes. And "the people who are most passionate on the forums" was a specific request. Seriously.

I call "b u l l s h i t"... If they actually read the forums why is the saw Nerf still on patch notes? Why is there STILL crippling lag at arkfalls and certain emergencies?
If they did read these forums then other guns would be brought "in-line" with saws and that bs shotgun nerf would have already been corrected so shotties are not completely useless in pve.

Wait a minute. So in order to placate the consumers who Trion has actively dismissed, ignored, and deceived, Trion is going 'reprioritize' things. I think this is the same things I have heard from Trion at least twice before.

So tell me, what has changed to make THIS time the time Trion gets it right? Do not tell me it is the staff changed, because those have been going on since the 60% layoff. Is it a change in vision? Doubtful, as in order to change the vision of this abomination of bugs would require basically scrapping the code and starting fresh...for something better then 10 year old hardware.

So tell me, what is the new magic formula that is going to make this reprioritization work, or is it yet another round of lip service just to placate the players and be walked back later?

I'm sorry but just because the majority of vocal players (Read: NOT EVERYONE) cried about their OP saw being brought into line with the rest of the weapons of its class doesn't mean they should listen to you. As of now we know at least one of the other LMG's was buffed and I'm guessing the other two may have been as well, I'll get back to you when I get a hold of one to test it out, but now the LMG's are looking equal against each other.

I Sincerely HOPE that this game can turn its self around. I also think us gamers who have been playing game since day 1 or close to or continue too deserve some type of REWARD LIKE putting bits on sale, free dlc, free bits, ME PERSONALLY I WANT DISCOUNT ON BITS TO RETURN TO 108% & AN INCREASE IN THE CHANCE, PERCENTAGE, RARITY, ORANGES OUT OF LOCKBOXES!. I think its BS that I can play for over two months getting keycodes & get no oranges thats BS! Then some kid who plays game for a day gets 10 LEGENDARyS BS. I really HOPE there is some REWARDS FOR US PLAYERS TRYING TO KEEP GAME ALIVE PERIOD! MY GT FREELANCER911

ALSO whats the deal with the Clan Boost?, Why if were policing our own community by placeing, posting, getting the word out about scammers & theives do we as the ones pointing them out get in trouble, infraction for naming & shaming? Quit naming and shaming and actually USE the different methods of reporting them!

Of course the fanboy only brings up the saw... How are shotguns working out for you genius? Oh, not very well, we can fix that by nerfing the next gun you attempt to use in pve...

Wow, so here's where we're at; It's August 11th, and there's still no release date. So it's starting to look like we might get a release date this month, and maybe the DLC next month.

We know that the truck has no turret, and we won't be able to shoot from it, making it just a 4 person truck. Considering how bad the lag is with two people in a car, I can only imagine how completely pointless this truck will be.

Arenas will be solo, not 4 person co-op. That's a big let down since co-op has been one of the better parts of this game, but at least it's something new to do.

We get swords and charge weapons, but the weapons we have now will get nerfed. Not sure how to feel about this. We'll have to wait and see how things work out. I do feel like there are better things that could have been done than nerf guns that most of the players really don't want changed.

Prices in game are going up, and so is the payout for activities. Again, seems like there could have been better uses of the dev's time and energy than changes like this. We'll see how it plays out in the game, probably won't really make a difference.

New race and new story missions. This is where it gets interesting for me. I felt let down with most of the episodic content during the show. I would like to believe that the real payoff of the DLC will be a lot of story related missions. However, no one is really talking about this, so I figure it will probably be an hour or two of "go here, fight the same old enemies, pick up a data recorder, watch a cut scene" type of stuff. A new race doesn't really mean much, since the only differences between the races and clothes are cosmetic.

New kinds of arkfalls? I'm not even sure if this is still in the DLC. It doesn't really matter to me, since the arkfalls we have now tend to be messed up. If you don't get kicked out of the game before the arkfall is over you probably will soon after. It's always been this way though, so we're just kind of used to it.

What about the voice chat? I've played this game since day one, and during that whole time, only once for a few minutes have I had voice chat work. I'm in a clan and not once, not one time have we been able to talk to each other during any events. I really thought this would have been fixed by now. Things like this are why nerfs and all the other little changes to the semantics of the game make people so mad. I haven't heard anyone talk about this with the DLC patch. It's just become something we accept, like the glitchy messed up arkfalls.

What's the bottom line? I don't expect much from the DLC. it's starting to seem like the negatives will outweigh the positives. Hopefully it will give us some new things to do and fix some old problems, but I doubt it. I'll honestly be surprised if this game still exists on the consoles, let alone if we get 5 DLCs, before the next season of the show starts. I haven't seen much from Trion throughout this game's existence that leads me to believe our opinions matter to them beyond their ability to generate profit from this game. I think the day is coming when Trion decides to cut bait on the consoles and leave the PC version on life support as long as the show's on the air.
