Everything that Trion ever thought might happen has been categorized as a lie. People want it both ways. They want Trion to share their development process and what they're working on (because dang it we DESERVE this) AND they want to say these things are all promises and that Trion's lying when these dev things don't see the light of day.
I pity all of you. You've wasted your lives on this game. Oh the humanities. Oh the good things you could have been doing if a deceptive Trion had not forced you to waste your money on buying a game (you had no choice), playing that game (again, no choice and it was horrible), and all the lies (because they intentionally wanted to piss everyone off by lying so they wouldn't love them anymore).
Ever play the game called gossip? Get a group together and tell someone a secret. They tell the next person and so on until it comes back to you. It very likely will be nothing like what you started the game with. Were those people lying? Being mean and evil by changing your words? Well this happens here too and the devs are real people but by all means crap on them and call it a reality sandwich.
If you lost money, complain. If you bought the game and never could play it, well I'd ask why you kept it, but complain, first by trying to actually get support to help you. You'd be surprised how many people never contact support but then use this forum to um complain about things. Just yesterday I helped 2 friends contact support (one got instant help) over problems they were complaining about-they weren't nasty but you'd be surprised how many are that have never tried to help themselves.
DLC. People love to say it was promised this date, that date, here there and everywhere. Some of it is wishful thinking on the part of fans. They say "Season Pass, you lied." When guess what Bioshock Infinite has a Season Pass and no tv show tie in-it's what DLC bundles are often called when they aren't map packs only. And Season Pass is used all over the entertainment industry and can mean many things, a year, a season, or even a school term. First week DLC, yeah people need to get over the idea that DLC was going to ever be released right away. That's ludicrous. People that think that have never heard of EA or Mass Effect 3 and DAY One DLC. Part of the crap storm over ME3 started with the release of DAY One DLC but you could go back further to Assassin's Creed 2 and Dragon Age Origins where people were angry over DLC that seemed to have been cut from the game and made into DLC just to get more money. By contrast, Trion is actually releasing DLC that incorporates things we've asked for-had they released this DLC the first week after the game came out, they'd have been accused of money sucking AND could never have added on things we asked for. The complaints would have been even harsher than what some do now. And, the Season Pass, there would have been no advance bonuses for getting it since many people didn't get the game right away.
Lying. I save that for people that actually lie. This thread is an example of someone interpreting something one way and then characterizing it as a lie or a reason not to trust Trion. Again, I sincerely doubt anyone thinking like this wants to be held to the same standards in their personal or professional life. But that's me. I don't trust companies anyway. I pay money for things. If they deliver, I'm ok with that. If they don't, I deal with that. If I like their product, I hope to be constructive in criticism to make it better. If I don't, I live with my mistakes and move on.
lets do some trust exercises:

Until release, any picture even from a test (note the word test) is a concept. Upon release if something still indicates something was to be there that is not, it's a bug and not intended.
They made statements saying the turret was not intended or considered for the game. You are applying strict meaning to what they said and saying that's a lie or just incorrect. But it's like anything else. People need to stop using semantics to try and read into what they meant or mean. Again, they are humans. If I say "I hope to see you after tomorrow" that doesn't mean the very next day and I could be thinking that tomorrow I can't see you because I'm going out of town. I might mean I'll see you next week or in a month. Both are after tomorrow. And it might be based on just how my family says things. Or how people from my neck of the woods do.
I had a friend who once said we'd meet for coffee and I thought we were going out for coffee the next morning. She meant on the phone at breakfast. That was her fun way of saying it. I didn't tell her I can no longer trust her or hate her for it. I laughed at my misunderstanding.
Don't get me wrong. A lot of companies do treat customers badly but I'm sorry if I don't see Trion as doing that. They've offered numerous ways for people to contact them, are using suggestions, have fixed every problem I've communicated with them about, contribute here, have given refunds for things people didn't get, offered free things, given me a game I've had a lot of fun with (even have laughed over some of the bugs at times), and have included fun contests, and in game and out of game added content and discussion. They've done far more than I've seen other companies do and what do they get for it? Wah, where's my DLC. Wah, they can't be trusted because something they have not released yet doesn't have something on it they never said they'd release it with. I take it back, I'm not sorry. I really think people need to stop acting like they're perfection personified and Trion can do nothing right.
@Indra Echo, so when are you throwing Wraieth under the bus??

why do you insist I said they lied? I said I will no longer trust anything they say. as for the pic, its just more of the same, it never had a turret yet it is labeled as a turret. I personally don't care if it has or doesn't have a turret. I have already stated trick explained the reason behind it, my issue is how they chose to deal with the turret or other issues. do I believe Elizabeth or greg just straight up lied, no. do I believe the communication amongst trion departments and fellow employees is atrocious, yeah. so many of the issues could have been solved by just coming out and explaining the issue/reason.Instead we get multiple answers/view points further adding to the issue. I hope the dlc is really good and defiance can live up to a least som e of the potential, but at this point in time I chose to no longer believe anything they say.

Apologists need to read this over and over again and reference each point with threads that are well explored and abundant right here. It's still not getting through the thicker skulls. Hell, that list isn't nearly half complete, but it should be enough for anyone to view and open up a dialogue about what IS glaringly obvious.
