Thats sort of the same as a crafting system, but I was thinking more along the lines of having the ability to go farming for materials to build a synergy mod for your gun. Instead we will just be farming scrip and arkresources. They should have had a recipe system where you get recipes for certain synergy mods as a drop off of an enemy....starting out you could only build white synergy mods, then green at a certain ego level, then blue at a higher ego level, then maybe even the ability to craft purple mods at level 5000. That would be cool!
Well then they are morons. No, that ISNT kind of a crafting system. Not even close. Thats just grinding for money to buy stuff, just like most mmo's have. Those games also have a crafting system. A true "crafting" system is when you learn a skill, lets say Mod Artisan, and you gain levels in that skill by using farmed materials to make basic mods. Thr higher you get your level up, and can find recipe drops for the required levels, you can then make those mods with farmed materials. THAT is crafting. What youre talking aboutis simply grinding for money to purchase items. Sortof like Rift did with gear earned through tokens recieved by doing tier 1s or tier 2s

Sort of like Rift did with gear earned through tokens recieved by doing tier 1s or tier 2s, in turn using those tokens to purchase gear from vendors. If the defiance devs call this crafting, they have earned the reward for the worst, most uneducated game developers of all time.

Competitive PVP with gear and titles to show off your glory is the way to go in online gaming.
Ugh and meh and yes, barf. I'm sick of PvP being everything in gaming. It's why intelligent games are dumped or radically changed by game devs. They reduce or remove stories because PvP is cheaper to make. And it's always fundamentally flawed and wins are often tied in part to how good your connection is or the luck of the draw as far as matchmaking goes. I've played so much PvP in my time and one day had to ask myself why.

Titles to show off your glory. Ok, well that's fine until someone uses some glitch or exploit and suddenly is consistently on top. It drives people away. And it makes devs focus on one aspect of the game that really gets people to quickly dump a game.

I have played every CoD game that came out-started on PC, and have played on the PS3 and 360. I don't see a lot of happy people playing Black Ops2 unless they're playing zombies. I do see a lot of rage quitting, hear a lot of yelling, arguing, trash-talking, whining, swearing (even from 5 year olds), as well as accusations of cheating. And much of what I hear is people complaining about the game and about how much it sucks. And BO2 isn't the only game I've heard this stuff in. Some of it is due to player behavior and some of it is due to matchmaking issues and just the game itself.

Eventually what happens in a lot of these games is all that is left is a lot of young kids playing it and swearing at everyone-it has happened in every game I've played. And along the way with team endeavors, you get people that won't do the objectives and act as if every game is TDM no matter what, and others that go AFK for some reason or another. I am sick to death of PvP and it's no real good indication of how good anyone is at playing a game. I really wish devs would put the emphasis on things other than PvP. PvP is the focus of a lot of games today and yet, it's often the most broken aspect of games and the least fun.

People have to remember that nothing that they do is written in stone here. They gave us Afflicted Sieges, so now we're to get Volge ones. Some of what they are doing is testing us to see exactly what we'd like more of. So if the Arenas are well-received they can always do more with them. But what if people just generally don't like the Arenas and Trion spent 3 months working on them? See in theory the idea might be appealing but there's a problem if they just work on making the best Arena ever and people play there but get bored after a month.

Here's the thing. It's often best to create smaller experiences that you keep changing out and coming back to than to create one huge one-like putting all your eggs in one basket. Even better would have been if this game did feature more RPG elements and have a lot of revolving random mission and shooter situations. They may come to that, given time and some patience.

I for one think it's kind of cool that there will be Echelon types around in the real world to use to get into certain matches. I hope that works well and that they show up randomly and not in specific spots only like vendors.

Well said, i played BO2 till Defiance came out, like i use to say Defiance may be a piece of trash (not to me) but it had something special enough to making me stop playind that game, thank God.
I don`t care for the PvP in this game and i will never achieve all goals in this game because i will not play PvP, and i don`t care.
I have so much more fun playing PvE and Co-Ops, not interested in measuring my ego with anyone.

I can't believe people would actually want PVP arena in Defiance. Every player loads in with their best detonator and the match is over in 5 seconds. Great PVP that would be.

Contrary to what some of you believe, there are those of us who do like to PVP, regardless of what game it is. I find this PVE business utterly boring. Tell me, in this game, after you've defeated Nim, what else have you done that you can recall as exciting? Side missions where you go to a point, kill enemies, and retrieve items? That's what you guys find exciting? If you want PVE, go pick up a real RPG like FF7. The PVE in this game is garbage. PVP is the only challenging aspect in this game and even then, it's a bit easy.

Pretty sure I did that like 2 days ago, when I posted a pic impying you were Bane! So YES!

Here's a reminder. Btw Bane is also very smart and calculating in the main Batman lore.

In Observatory, you have the two teams crash into each other inside the building usually resulting in 2-6 deaths total between them because people spam grenades, detonator or rocket shots. That would be an arena match right there. I'd rather run a difficult gamut of enemies in horde/set waves than terrible PVP arenas in a shooter MMO.

i agree with alot of people that the arena's should have been a co-op endless wave of hordes type game. for defiance being an mmo there is way to much solo in the game
