I still find that funny that PC players think that. Consoles ARE pcs as well. and we do not need to upgrade or repair OURS every 3-4 months so they can continue working or play our new games. We only have to replace/upgrade to the new model every 10 years or so.

Most of those threads get moved to the Suggestions sub-board in gameplay discussion, the bug reports and issues board, or outright removed. Or quickly buried. Besides. None of us have seen you be nice or constructive. So what's your point?

first and foremost good sir i assume you do realize your name is neither original nor conductive to any game trion worlds produces and using trade marked/copyrighted material is not only a epic breach of the c.o.c but t.o.s. as well and provokingly shows beyond all reasonable measure you lack the appropriate facility's to either read the rules or come up with something of your own accord this being stated

I'm solely a PC player myself. I simply to not have even the smallest interest in console play. At 40 years old, that isn't likely to change either. At this stage in life, I am who I am, and it is fairly firmly in place.

That said, I have no issue with consoles. What I, and some other PC players generally dislike, is when these recent MMOs insist on a PC-Console mixed bag. You guys play with gamepads, we play with mouse and keyboard. As with DCUO, and also with Defiance, the MMO game experience-- from the basic U.I. to simple chat and social functions-- suffer greatly. It would be best if studios would just pick a platform (PS/XBox or PC) and design the game specifically for that, and release it solely for that.

These cross-hybrids are just a lackluster game experience for us PC MMO players. After some 15 years of basic functions being expected, to have them so watered down or non-existent just so the game can play on a console/gamepad, is just poor on our end.

I love the Defiance setting (hell, my gaming group is about to start a tabletop RP campaign set in it), but the Defiance interface, social functions, and game set-up are mediocre to poor for what the PC audience expects from an MMO: even a non-RPG MMO.

Another example, they built Defiance around the concept of using in-game, generally open VOIP in play. That's the normal SOP on a console game. PC MMO players, though, generally use (and expect) a functioning text chat system that reaches across the map, and allows us to connect to the playerbase that way. Most PC MMO players will use Ventrillo or Teamspeak for VOIP, but we tend to use it only for our close friends, or general Guild. Not the open population. We rarely ever use a game's built in system, which is typically subpar to Vent or TS anyway (even in WoW), and never use it as a general population feature.

Even DCUO understood this. Although they have built in VOIP which is generally used by the PS3 base, they also have a fully functional MMO text chat system--- which is widely used by the PC base.

Trion obviously built Defiance as a console game, which is fine. But if they wanted a PC release, they should have put in the basic features that even SOE knew enough to include in DCUO.

Sadly, without that basic function actually being added into the game by or with the DLC (and an improved chat window is not it, I am talking real MMO text/social functions, map-wide), then the DLC means it will be the same silent, non-social, lackluster MMO game on the PC side. No matter how many races or nerfs they add.

Technically speaking, so are scientific calculators, but I still wouldn't waste money one one, much less try to game with one.

I really don't care what people play on. It's a preference thing. They meet different needs, specific to the people using them. Why does either choice have to be a bad one?

We've been telling them the same thing since the original Alpha. Unfortunately, we weren't able to overcome the institutional apathy in order to deliver the message.

again your utter stupidity completely astounds us! you do realize that consoles a re "mass produced" out of outdated and cheep components that have been stockpiled away for years if a "console had one 1/5 the comparative processing or graphical power or made with current technological components you honestly would not be able to afford them..since they would compare to a new computer ..pc's on the other hand are generally "plug and play and upgradable/tweekable on the fly it voids no warrentys/rebates to openmy "rig" and do with it as i please from the software's i choose to operate to the o/s i choose to use it is entirely end user driven not to mention my ability to run emulation software and play any console game ever created from Atari to Nintendo from 3do to Xbox.......something you cannot do with crappy consoles ..you stuck with the games made /coded for your console or multiple consoles you are ignorant enough to buy that are out dated before they hit the shelves ...

all i read was i got a crappy pc and i download emulators to play console games, then i go on the forums to cry about consoles
