Recently my character hit 2000 EGO, and I've noticed a sharp increase in purple drops from the major arkfall tier 2 lockbox rewards. I'm averaging about one purple per major arkfall since hitting 2000 EGO. Is this normal, or just a string of good luck?

A random lockbox is STILL a random lockbox. You get whatever random items it throws at you. Just be glad you are getting good stuff.

Ok, I thought it was just a random string of luck, but I knew there was a previous leveling requirement for random drops of uncommon rarity, so I was wondering if there was a similar mechanic with arkfall crates. Thanks for answering.

Thanks. I came up with it last winter during the baseball offseason(it started as "FearDaBeard (in Fenway)"). The Red Sox needed better bullpen pitchers, I thought why not Brian Wilson? Although he was injured, he was a good closer and why not take a chance with a minor league deal? After that didn't happen, I simply shortened it. Yeah, I'm not much of a football fan. I guess I'm a bandwagon Pats fan(being a Red Sox fan). But any athlete with epic beard is epic.
Wait til you hit about 3000 to 3200, and the purples start drying up.
I salvaged a LOT of purple not knowing it was going to be less available, and while the slots start opening back up to 4 around 4K, the bonuses are crazystupid sometimes.
tl;dr
Don't salvage good stuff knowing better will come along. Wait til you have the better in your inv.
At least we're not still getting a cheesey 'nade/shield combination that was so bad you were even embarrassed to be seen scrapping it.
