And Ceta Hawk mind your manners Please or you mite not even be able to play Defiance for a bit
Many of us asked for more, concrete Storyline content. The medicore story missions that just lead into the Arena are not it. Many of us have asked for a REAL text chat system, or a social hub/town.

No, the Devs have not given everything that was asked for. And for the record, neither has DCUO nor any other MMO on the market. Rose colored glasses sure are pretty though, aren't they?

Sounds like your clan is letting you down, IMO.

In the 47th we have two weekly operations. We do anything and everything. Some of the activities include:

Working on social pursuits, Shadow Wars (our bread and butter), road marches (hugely popular), big *** races (like Tranquility Road to Bug and Chug), themed co-op and arkfall runs (i.e. everyone uses a BMG, et cetera), training exercises involving things like movement under fire, reflexive fire drills, utilization of cover and concealment, proper roles and techniques of various weaponry, marksmanship, et cetera.

Two ops ago we spent half of it just chatting up how we plan to officially present the RP story of the 47th Legion and everyone was hella into it. Combine all that with promotions, awards, Legionary of the Month, and various in-game contests we run weekly for our members and we do a ton of stuff.

We even have a bi-weekly poker night over at pokerstars.com.

I keep so busy with clan stuff that until I decided to set aside play time specifically for finishing the main missions (first playthrough, btw) I had only bothered to advance my questing to Iron Demon Ranch. That was as of, like, last week sometime.

Sometimes ya get what ya put in. That's true for most MMOs and Defiance isn't an exception IMO.

Sounds great. It really does. The problem for me and Defiance however is the too heavy reliance (by design) on VOIP. I have to be honest, I don't do a lot of voice chat. The reason being that while my computer in my home office is powerful due to work, I don't put games on it. So, I tend to play MMOs on the secondary computer in the bedroom. Given the hours I am able to play (usually late night after my work day, family time, and when the kids are asleep), voice chat is out of the question due to not wanting to keep the wife awake.

If Defiance had a real MMO text chat system, it'd be a different story. So, as far as the current design state of this game, even a clan would not help some of us much. It might just be time for me to leave it, clear the HD space, and write it off.

I love the Defiance setting enough to be play testing one of our upcoming tabletop RPG systems using the setting in my private games, but as for the video game: it's too non-social without Voice Chat. And this isn't a cross-platform-to-console issue, as DC Universe Online is cross platform, and has both integrated voice and a full-blown MMO text chat system.

Sorry sir and or madam, These devs are on the ball and going for it all

If you doubt me just go download the PTR Server and see what they have in store for us gamers and notice the ways they have listened to us all.

BTW your so called concrete storyline is drawn out between the game and the series and without a further season it can't progress beyond that !

Also DCUO gave you what you paid For, I know I played it from beta till 4/2013

Tyger shoot me in the head or hammock me, why am I playin with these clowns

Yeah, that's on you though. Might be time to move your gaming rig somewhere else and enjoy the social atmosphere that VOIP provides in 2013.

I also played DCUO from launch until May 2013. Actually, from Beta until May 2013, but who's counting. And no, they didn't either. No MMO has, and none can.

And for the record, I have been on the Alpha Server. I've decided to not purchase the DLC.

Actually, the storyline can continue without the show. Defiance the game and Defiance the show are set in two different areas of Defiance Earth for that reason. Not to mention, Syfy already mentioned at Comic Con that there are tie-in, bridge missions coming to the game to bridge the 11 months of story time between Season 1 and Season 2. At the beginning of Season 2, Nolan is on the west coast in Los Angeles and will be crossing through the Bay Area, Varus is already cast as a recurring character, and so forth.

But that isn't the in-game story content already established.

The Defiance game has its own storyline. Thus Nim, the battle for the Terraspire, Von Bach, Cass, Jon Cooper, et cetera. If the show had been canceled after Season 1, the franchise was designed from the start so that the game could continue on its own. Likewise if the game shuts down, the show can continue just fine. Syfy and Trion made this clear in various pre-launch interviews.

The game story: What's the current state with Dark Matter now that Nim is dead? What is up with Von Bach, who seems to be charged with Ark-tech energy now? Not to mention some of the story threads still open from the Co-Ops and defeat of certain enemy leaders. None of which is affected by, nor affects, the Defiance show or the transmedia connection.

So, again, no, further in-game storyline content is not predicated upon Season 2 of the show. Only the tie-in content is. You really should read the backlog of media articles and interviews with comments and explanations directly from Syfy and Trion on the design of the two, and the why and how they are generally kept separate.

The concrete in-game storyline and the transmedia cross-over tie-ins are two different things.

You are right, it is on me. But no, I won't be moving the rig. I can, and do, play Rift, World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, The Secret World, and even the occasional DC Universe Online just fine with a fully functional text chat system in those games. The Rift guild alone has over 300 members with over 40 online even at 3am in the morning, and text chat works like a charm.

So, instead, I suppose it might be time to move Defiance off the rig, and spend money in a cash shop elsewhere. That's fine, though. I'm just not their target audience for the game.

I like the show, though, and will continue to enjoy it come June 2014.

This is what was happening a year ago, almost to the date.

    Day late Dollar Short

Everyone is missing the big picture worried about individual boss reward encounters ect.

New people are leaving and have un-subbed like myself for 4 main reasons.

1.) We are not going to work 10x as hard to purchase tier 4 chests to get equipped.

2.) We aren't going to put up with lag disco's which still occur after being their for the full event and get nothing as score resets to zero. Which after a hole year plus of being live should NOT be happening at the rate it does at all, 4 out of 6 bounces.

3.) Encrypted trash, over 75% of all purples are encrypted, no way to upgrade a weapon we want to stick with.

4.) All of the assumptions a lot of the dev are making ingame are geared towards what they think, after all the replies and comments on what we think is wrong a stupid q & a on stuff that only affects 1% of the player base.

On a side note, after loosing almost all of the player base in Rift with a lot of the same issues you had there going on here. There is no wonder why the game will not be a complete ghost town in the VERY near future a.k.a dead

Thought I would add one other thing, everyone is focusing on the adjust arkforge drop rates ect as a diversion of what the main issues are going on, drop rates don't mean squate if there isn't anything to use them on or any players to use it
