Not gonna lie, that's pretty screwed up. Some become so jaded or selfish with themselves that they have zero consideration for those around them. (Or just kids with horrible, lazy, irresponsible parents.) This doesn't pertain just toward vets, but to anyone who isn't the norm or like themselves.

Men and women such as yourself are the reason why the average joe can live as we do. Thank you for your sacrifice, and I'm glad you came back alive. I'm guessing you had compatriots with you in a caravan when that IED went off, and I hope they made it out as well.

You're lucky. My upper back and neck look like pizza because of some recruit (read mega-n00b) on the grenade range that threw like a panzy and didn't realize his grenade had a red stripe rather than blue.

Otherwise, in the Sandbox, I had the exclusive privileged to ride the ejection seat out of a HMMWV. Only problem is that my model wasn't exactly equipped with ejection seats... Now, I'm just walking with a kneecap made by Hasbro.

I imagine that was an invigorating ride.

/Salute to all of you for your service and sacrifice.

My younger brother was a crew chief in the USAF in Gulf 1, out on Diego Garcia, spitballing B-52's at Sadman Hussein as fast as they could refuel and rearm them. I think he said they went somewhere around 36 hours straight before one of the ossifers realized his crew was the only one that hadn't stood down yet and forced them all to grab a meal and a rack before they fell over on the pad.

God damn man....I'm amazed anyone could survive something like that. Sounds like one tough S.O.B.
