I thought this would be kinda fun.
List off the game that you think compares well with Defiance and also list off why (or what) it is that compares so well.
I'll start off. I think it compares well with Halo, because the Ego girl in Defiance feels almost exactly like Cortana in Halo. They are both in your head/software, they are both blue, they both act as your helper/guide.
What other games do you think compare with Defiance?

I was trying to promote some GAMING discussion about Defiance and what it takes from other games to combine into it's own unique game.
It's no secret that just about every single game in existence takes elements from other games to combine into something even better. Maybe I view the game industry with rose colored glasses and yours are brown, I don't really know, but I'm trying to be 100% positive here.

This game is pretty unique with elements of some games but what makes it, Its own is the fact its the first open world tps mmo on xbox ,Ps3,Pc that has a show with it.
The fact that the show event are happening even while we play the game. Which make it where we effect the show and the effects the game.
Also, I was just trying to kill time before Tuesday.
I'm really interested in seeing the tv show tie-in, as I am also a huge sci-fi nerd.
I was able to play the beta on the Xbox 360, but bought it for the PC instead. However, I think Defiance is an excellent game for the Xbox 360, it's something the Xbox console needs very very badly (and I've played Final Fantasy Online for the Xbox as well, which kinda sucked for the console).
I never had the opportunity to play the Beta, so alas, I have no real in-game experience to speak from. Perhaps my perceptions of the game will change on April 2, but thus far, I would compare it heavily with Borderlands. However, this isn't unique to me as I've seen this comparison one hundred times across the Defiance forums.
I think the game art, the color palate, variety of guns, and general "wasteland" environment all compare with BL. Again, I can't say from any first hand game play though.
Well I guess you can watch some gameplay on youtube to get a hint of what to expect from it. but as far as BL comparing thing has more of a i wanna kill something feel rather then bl having let mod this weapon and kill this 50 foot worm.

I meant that Defiance can't be compared to BL. Defiance doesn't need to be compared to anything just wait and play it.

Well, I agree with you in a sense. Defiance is it's own game and I'm entirely stoked to play it without thinking about other games. But...the topic of the thread IS comparing it with other games/elements of other games.
