SWTOR was same criticism at launch and when they did their panel it was so high up on the list they actually put it out there that they could either give same sex marriage for the chars, or they could focus on game content... I kinda think this day in age should be a no brainier to make the stuff universal.

this thread is about guys who play female toons otherwise you would have said lets talk about players who mooch/gold-dig for goodies...
If you look back to the OP, he was talking about players who dig for goodies. Specifically under the ruse of pretending to be female. STAY ON TOPIC!

Choosing to play as either male or female solely because of aesthetics is your thing and I support that but I stopped kicking kittens a long time ago now I have two cats.

I don't know what that means but I would pepper spray you if you said that in person.

Yea me too.. Yea I have definitely ran across a few of them.. One of them I became friends with, never thinking about their gender really, but what made me think of even asking or bringing it up was being in a instance and a guy was trying to hit on the "Catfish" and I was just thinking, Lol this could be a guy, I've been hanging around this person for 3 day in game and they seem like a passive bro to me lol.. After the instance I was like, "WTFuzz dude was trying to hit on you bro, does that not feel strange as fuzz?", he said yea, only if he knew. From then on I was like, I'm glad I'm not the type to have women problems or try to find love through gaming, because I could become a victim somehow lol...

Guys who pose as Female Charaters in MMO's A.k.A MMO Catfish

you guys/gals ever seen that MTV show Catfish? Its pretty much a show where they meet some one whos been speaking a some one online for a long time and are in love with them but have never met the person then these 2 guys help them meet to see if they are who they say they are in person which in most times it aint its a different person than in the pics, some guy posing as a girl or girl posting as a guy

    anyway to my point

Their are alot of guys who play as female characters so they can try charm free things off of guys like a cyber gold digger lol happens all the time ive caught a catfish or two of my own one tried and tried and tried to sweet talk me (via in game text) and then say hey do you got a few thousand gold you can give me and when i never would get mad at me until one day they said BTW im a guy and you thought i was a girl your sad...... yea im the sad one

Have you ever ran into one of these catfish? and if so what happened
if not whats your view on this? maybe your a catfish who would like to tell us about some huge item some one gave you
    -------------------------------------------------

it's still all about guys pretending to be girls (to get loot). It's fine but to pose a topic like this and then get upety at people for finding it humorous or silly to A. have done this, B. have fallen for this, or c. being concerned about this, is ridiculous and uncalled for. Those are the asked for opinions per the OP

"if not whats your view on this?" right there opens up all the can of worms for people to give whatever point of view they like on the topic and its myriad of subtopics.

The problem being that in this day and age, between the school system and the media, people are taught that it is always someone else's fault. Something bad happen? Find a scapegoat!

I don't have a problem with a male playing a female toon, or vice versa. I do have an issue with people pretending to be someone they aren't, but that happens all the time online, and in more ways than just what gender they are. There is NO way to stop people from lying, and it's easier to do online than anywhere else. The best course of action is just to get to know people as best as you can, pick out who you feel you can trust, and who you can't, and pay attention to the kind of people you choose to group with and befriend.

People are going to lie, especially if it gets them free help or loot, or what have you. The challenge is in finding those that just want to have fun and be themselves, and they ARE out there.
